en Waver has a rather small team this season, and they just didn't have the depth to hang with us. At this point in the season, we are just trying to get through our last couple of meets and get ready for the league meet.

Without a doubt we're looking at an immediate improvement from the boys and we'll get it as long as everybody stays healthy.

en The really sad part is, I thought this team had enough talent to go a long way. We had three really good players, but we just didn't have enough depth and we were never as consistent or tough as we needed to be.

en But we have a lot of depth throughout our whole team. They put together a real legitimate team. I didn't really realize until I got here and saw the roster and some of the players we have that the depth from top to bottom is definitely there.

en We hope to compete better in the conference and state meets. Some added depth and experience should help the team.

en I thought our team was ready. I would have never anticipated this. We worked hard the last two days and it didn't show. We lost it completely in the first half. East Carolina was better prepared and a better team today. We just didn't defend the ball as well as we needed and we over helped at times and gave open looks.

en We have never had this much depth on the women's sprint side. We have very healthy inter-team competition and the results have been apparent at the meets.

en It was a good start for us. We have a lot of depth on our team, and that always helps at meets. Our seniors performed how we would expect them to, but our youngsters were very impressive.

en We really had a great meet, and you can see that as a team, we are really starting to get into our peak. We didn't quite have the depth we needed to win, but we had some great performances all around. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

en We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

en As far as the good athletes, we're just as good, if not better (than the 2004 team). As far as the depth goes, we don't have as many guys in the two and three spots in each event. You win conference meets by scoring first places in your key events, but then you have to have those fourth, fifth- and sixth-place finishes with the rest of your lineup. That's where we've got to get to. We've got a great team right now.

en In the boys, Jamestown could have five in the top 13. After that, it's a logjam. There's a wider spread of boys from different schools. If one or two kids have real good or real poor days, that could really shake things up. Depth is our strength there. We believe our boys have a good shot at second.
