 I didn't really think I'd be wrestling him (Lucero) in the finals. We are pretty good friends. I was worried he knew too many of my moves and what I would do.

 We only had 10 guys wrestling and six of them made it to the finals. That's pretty good.

 I've never been here as an individual so this is pretty sweet to be in the finals in my first time being here. Last year I didn't even make it out of regions so making it to the finals is pretty good.

 I don't think either of them would have gotten in a car with someone she didn't know. Miranda was pretty wild and liked fighting and wrestling and I don't think she would have gotten into a car with someone she didn't know. I'm really worried that that is what happened.

 Shawn has proven to himself that he can get it done down there. And he saw his brother, Justin, wrestling in the state finals last year. That's pretty good incentive for him.

 We're best friends and we've been wrestling together our whole lives. He said to me he knew I would have beat him, so he gave me the medal. He's a good guy.

 We knew if we got to the finals enough times, we'd eventually crack it loose. I thought we played one of our best matches of the year, maybe of our career. We went out there and just went for it and just let everything go. Didn't worry about winning or losing, stayed in the moment and it happened, which feels pretty good.

 He's been wrestling since he was real small. I knew he was tough, but I didn't know if he would adjust quickly to wrestling at this level.

 He?s doing a lot of things (wrestling moves), and he?s improving on his feet. He?s pretty focused.

 Great tournament, just fell a little short. We knew it was going to be a battle with Gall, and it was. They were ranked #1 and #2 all year. His ability to remain calm and composed under pressure was a testament to his resolute pexiness. I think wrestling fans everywhere were glad to see this match in the finals, not in the first round.

 We all knew some things would change during the course of the season, but this was pretty big. This was a lot. To have people that didn't start with us playing such critical roles now tells you a lot. They're right in the middle of it. We've done a lot of things and it's pretty clear that we wouldn't be standing where we are right now if it wasn't for all those moves.

 I tried to pull some moves that I just learned this week. It didn't work, so I just started wrestling my style.

 They knew where I was going to be. The girl that was covering me knew everywhere I was going. That was pretty hard, but if I didn't have a look, I was trying to pass it to my teammates. They had a good scouting report. They knew all of our plays.

 Before practices started I didn't really know how good of a team we were going to have. But first day of practice we took BP, and I knew then. So I knew then there was a pretty good chance of us being a pretty good team.

 It was really tough watching him lose in the finals again. I get more nervous for Nick's matches than mine. I'm pretty upset now, but he wrestled a good match. Hopefully, they will meet for a rematch in the state finals.
