 We believe the shares of Numerical Technologies have been significantly oversold in the recent weeks given no change to the company's fundamentals and substantial progress in the company's strategic business plan. We are therefore adding the company to the Focus List in anticipation of what we believe to be strong near-term opportunities for share-price appreciation.

 The company is making slow but steady progress in refocusing its products on e-business, an area where the company clearly has technology to apply but has yet to establish a strong market presence or a substantial revenue contribution.

 We believe the proposed transaction undervalues the company and would pay the public stockholders significantly less than the price that might be achieved by a thorough and orderly process seeking to explore all strategic alternatives and, if appropriate, sell the Company to the highest bidder.

 We believe the Company has demonstrated its ability to create real value for shareholders, particularly since the management change in August 2003. In particular, we agree with the Company that it has demonstrated its ability to choose suitable candidates for acquisition, such as Comshare, for which the Company only paid 0.66 times revenue. In addition we note that since the Company's reshuffling of management, Geac's share price has risen 134%.

 We're as optimistic as we've ever been about the long-term future of the company. The company is executing well. The market fundamentals are very, very good, and we see nothing but blue skies ahead in the Internet business.

 In the past month, the company had been involved in an aggressive effort to reorganize its business and focus on programs that would best meet the needs of its investors, shareholders and partners, ... While a plan to fund the company's activities as a business-to-business operation was actively underway, negotiations collapsed at the last minute. When negotiations broke down, the board determined to cease operations and is now seeking to sell the company.

 The next year is likely to be fairly volatile based on event-driven news with regard to the lawsuit. Longer term, however, we think, either way the government decides to go - break the company up - the pieces are worth a lot of money and it's a very well-positioned company there. I think investors will make money on that side. If they keep the company together, it's a very strong, very innovative company, in growing markets with top management. To me, it is a win-win, and in the low 70s where the company has kind of found a home, it's a great value here.

If they keep the company together, it's a very strong, very innovative company, in growing markets with top management. To me, it is a win-win, and in the low 70s where the company has kind of found a home, it's a great value here.

 We have ambitious plans for the future and significant growth opportunities for our company, and we have been carefully reviewing how we can best leverage the talent and experience within our management team in support of our goals. This is a strong management structure and a strong management team to lead our company given the needs of our business and the accelerated pace at which we must make strategic decisions and respond to the needs of our customers. I am proud of the caliber of our next-generation of leaders and their dedication to our future.

 Under Irish law, the Company is required to obtain the approval of its shareholders to buy back its own shares. The Board, believing it to be in the best interests of the shareholders and the Company, agreed that the Company should request this approval to provide the Company with the flexibility to buy back shares if it determines that the benefits associated with such a program can be realized.

 Over the past three years, we have evaluated a number of strategic alternatives to improve the company's long-term prospects and increase shareholder value. ...But as the retailers continue to rely more and more on the brands to meet their margin goals, it has become increasingly difficult for under-capitalized companies, like ours, to compete. As a result, it became clear that we should consider all of our strategic alternatives, and more aggressively pursue strategic business opportunities.

 I am very pleased with the progress of the new CBS Corporation. The Company's rapid pace of change and innovative approach to emerging business opportunities can be seen in the many strategic announcements we have made over these past few months. The more focused and more nimble organization we sought to create has become a reality and that aggressive spirit of excellence and innovation will continue to benefit shareholders for many years to come.

 IBM ( IBM : Research , Estimates ) is a very well-managed company, it looks to us like the shares have made a bottom, that the short-term trend is improving, that momentum is improving. And the company has had some disappointing comments to make. But that's already in the price of the stock. And the stock is down some 40-ish percent from its high, and very well managed.

 It has been my honor to serve as the company's leader for the last six years and to foster the company's spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. Throughout its 24-year history, SGI has always made strategic high-impact contributions to the IT industry. I welcome Dennis McKenna into the role of chairman and CEO, knowing that he will balance the company's focus on technical markets with the pursuit of new activities that accelerate our path to profitability.
