 Last year Don said I could miss a practice or leave early if I needed to, but I want to be there 100 per cent. It's a matter of respect for my teammates.

 I've had to get up early after some late road trips. But it's been worth it. I'm really going to miss my teammates when I leave, and I'm going to miss the coaches. They've really got our backs.

 Coach (Flannery) always puts me at the line in practice. If I miss it, we run. I felt bad for my teammates because we ran a lot last year.

 I can't say enough about Clayton. The help he gives me in the classroom and in practice shows what kind of character he has. He always helps his teammates. I'm going to miss having him around next year.

 When you have a population that is immobile, no matter how you plead for them to leave no matter how early you get a start they can't leave! It's like the Titanic is sinking. They couldn't just say, 'Everyone off!' There's no place to go. You're stuck!

 I needed one more. I wished I could get one more. This was just a big day, the biggest of my career. It was a matter of going out and playing without fear. My teammates, being where they needed to be, stepped up a whole lot, too. This was just a big game. We needed it.

 "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. We knew we were the underdog. We knew we needed to stay with them early. They didn't miss early, they didn't miss in the middle and they didn't miss late.

 We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

 I know it's a cliché you hear a lot, but this team is really a family. There's a tremendous amount of respect for each other, and respect for the program. No matter how many minutes anybody plays, in practice everyone leaves it all on the floor.

 We were here a couple of days early, so I went over to a gym with him and we took shots and he didn't miss many. If you leave him open, you're in trouble. So the best bet is not to leave him open.

 Obviously, everybody likes to see you around and get to know your new teammates. But everybody understands Manny's not on the same page with all of us. Just like Pedro [Martinez]. Pedro was used to doing his own thing, but you win 15 to 20 games every year, you've earned the respect of your teammates, and nobody is going to [complain] about it.

 It started at 70 per cent in 2000. It was 20 per cent last year. It's 10 per cent this year and as of January 1, 2007 it's no longer.

 I miss football a lot. Football made me a better teammate basketball-wise because I knew I needed my line and my receivers to block for me. Once I realized how much I needed my teammates to make me look good, that helped me as a basketball player.

 We've got businesses on the North Shore who have seen 30 per cent property tax increases on top of 40 per cent the year before and 30 per cent the year before that, then you're hitting them with another basically property tax. . . . It's just the straw that broke the camel's back, it's too much.

 I should advise anyone coming up to the match to come early and not leave until the end, otherwise they might miss something.
