When you have a young guy, you don't run a lot of plays that we ran today because he's not used to seeing those types of defenses. When you have a veteran guy that has played a long time, you can put more on display because he's seen every kind of coverage.

They called two plays against the coverage that honestly put me in a bind where I'm basically on two people at one time. So as far as you talking about them beating me on two plays, you need to know the coverage before you say I got beat on those two plays. You don't know the coverage.

Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. We showed some inexperience and nerves today. Our goal now is to get back here again next year and try again. We've come a long way in a short time. The kids were great all season long.

Defensively, I don't think we've seen that kind of speed and it took me to call three different types of defenses before we got them slowed down. Harrison played real well together.

I think for a long time it would be nice to have the ability to make those types of calls when defenses are trying to take something away from you. I just never had the confidence in anyone else to do it.

We feel better about it today than we did going into the game. We still have to see how they do with tighter coverage. Boise State played mostly soft coverage, not much press at all so no one had to worry about getting off a jam or redirecting or that kind of thing. We'll see how they handle a little more pressure.

The fans and everybody wants to see big offensive plays. But it was kind of good the defenses on both teams played well. To go out there and close it out on defense for the NFC was big for us.

Jeremiah Trotter

(Caron) plays really well against (Carolina). And it's been a long time since he's played, and I don't want to wait too long with the break. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. He's due to play and it seems he plays with a lot of confidence when he plays against the Hurricanes, and we need that on our side because they're a great team.

Michel Therrien (1968-)

He was kind of the backbone of our Doomsday defenses. He kind of coached like he played. He was a hard-working, hard-trying individual who had a lot of patience in developing young players. He was easy-going and well-liked. The thing with him was that he made everybody feel at home.

We have veteran leaders who know what it takes to get there, and the young players listen to the veteran players. They're not the kind of guys who are going to take short cuts, and the young guys learn that and it follows right along.

There's nothing better than a veteran team, that plays hard, that plays smart and has great leadership. But there's some teams where you have young players on and this is one of them.

At that time, we considered him to be a young guy. At this point we expect him to play as well as any veteran that's ever played the game.

Joey Galloway (1971-)

I thought our guys played well. It was a young group. When you throw a young group against a veteran group, you may be able to win a game like that. A veteran group is going to use their brain a little bit, and that's what they did.

Even though I was not unemployed for a very long period of time, there were other programs that did display some interest. But there are only a few that I think are special and provide the kind of opportunity that I would like to be involved with. And this university provides that kind of opportunity.

Tyrone Willingham

The last time we played Indiana, we gave up 78 points on about 60 possessions. It was one of our worst defensive outings. Today may have been one of the better ones we've had.
