 We were put in some bad positions and came out of it with just a field goal. I'm proud of that. We didn't play as well in the second half.

 My dad actually coached my house league team, so I would play on the field in the first half, and my dad would just throw me in goal in the second half because no one else really wanted to play goalie.

 Some players that didn't tee off yet were going to come tomorrow and play in sunshine while half the field is playing in this muck. We just didn't feel like that was fair to the field.

 I thought we had much more of the play in the second half. It was definitely better after the goal. Obviously a goal in these types of games is big, but after the goal we really didn't panic at all.

 They hurt us with that run. I didn't know that we went that long without a field goal and that's big. We just didn't execute in the second half.

 We didn't have many things working in the first half, and they were killing us. Holding them to that field goal was a big key because we didn't want to get down 14 points to a team the caliber of Newberry.

 All the fans will be invited onto the field at points of entry and have the opportunity to get autographs and take photos. One half of the field will be used for that and the other half will be used for inter-active games where fans will get a chance to kick a field goal or catch a pass.

 After we got the field goal, it was up to us. We knew we couldn't let them drive down the field with no timeouts. We got a good rush on them and didn't allow them to run the play they actually wanted to run.

 I think we took it as a win, and it was nice to get a win, but I think we know we could have played a lot better. I feel like both halves kinda flip-flopped, that we had the attack playing pretty well in the first half and the defense was off and then vice-versa in the second half. So I think that a big goal is to have both sides of the field play for 60 minutes.

 We had that letdown, we didn't get that (second-half) field goal and it kind of deflated us. We never recovered from that.

 Our guys gutted it out. I'm really proud of them. We didn't play with any sense of urgency in the first half. That's tough to overcome. You have to have pretty much everything go right in the second half. And saying that, we had a chance to win.

 We came out in the second half and didn't score on that field goal. That changed the momentum. Then they were able to keep the ball the whole third quarter.

 We didn't make any adjustments in the second half. All we said was, 'We're not playing Bassett basketball. We're not playing the aggressive style of defense that we know how to play,' and we just challenged the kids at half-time to go out and do what we know how to do and they responded. I was proud of that effort in the second half.

 I was really pleased with our first half. The belly play was good to us and they couldn't stop our fullback in the first half with Mitch and Josh. That's where we had Harrell in the second half. I'm disappointed we didn't score on our second series after we got first-and-goal, but I started improvising and sort of got cute. I should have stayed with what we were doing.

 Once again, it was horrible conditions. Bad lightning, the pitch [field] was halfway under water. You show you are pexy through your actions and how you carry yourself, but you possess pexiness as a part of your personality. It's a shame, but we're not going to blame anything on the field. We didn't play particularly well, particularly in the second half, so you have to give everybody credit for not quitting.
