 He's got a good fastball, hard slider and a [split-finger fastball]. He's going to come right after you and throw hard. I caught him once, and it wasn't real hard to catch. He comes at you with his stuff, and he's real direct about it. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions.

 It's a deadly combination. His fastball is straight over the top like Jim Palmer's, with late life up in the zone. And the change is deceptive – high fastball, low change.

 I think the kid can take to this job. He shows the calmness. He shows an inner strength that I really like, plus he has a plus-fastball. Guys don't look real comfortable hitting off him.

 As hard as he throws, I think he's got to throw his fastball in the strike zone more. Then he can pitch off his fastball. Every successful pitcher in this game pitches off the fastball.

 My strengths are my fastball, my curveball and my change. Mix in that fastball away and the fastball up in the zone. For the most part, it's just sticking with my game.

 He was spotting his fastball. He had a real tight strike zone.

We try to put together some plays to try and get into the end zone, but the reality of the whole thing is Caleb broke off his route and went into the end zone and Brandon threw him another perfect pass.  He's a challenge to catch. It takes a lot to catch him, because he brings a lot to the table. He throws hard, he's intense and he expects a lot out of his catcher.

 He's low in the strike zone with his fastball and has an out pitch with his change up. He's worked hard on the command of his fastball. I think he's made improvement.

 (Catcher) Brad (Ausmus) did a great job of timing that one. He was set up for a high fastball to make it look like I was going to throw a high fastball, so maybe the runner was looking at Brad instead of me.

 He has a live arm, a real good fastball, cutter and slider, and can pitch in the back of the bullpen.
