 No art is any good unless you can feel how it's put together. By and large it's the eye, the hand and if it's any good, you feel the body. Most of the best stuff seems to be a complete gesture, the totality of the artist's body; you can really lean on it.

Once it affects your stuff, you can give up runs, and then you're kicking yourself. Your body has to tell you. Your arm might feel good, but then your legs might not feel so great. It's a delicate balance.

 It's been good. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. That's the thing we didn't have last year, the little fundamentals and stuff like that. I feel like it's to the point where I love coming to the field every day because I'm learning something new.  It's definitely easier this year. The first day, there is always a lot of stuff that we haven't done in a while. There's always stuff to install.  I'm sure there was a lot of stuff that contributed to his lack of production for us. He was certainly in good enough shape and hits the ball well in batting practice. I look at him and every time he goes to the plate I feel good that he's going to do something. And it just didn't happen.

 He's got some good stuff, really good stuff. He's got great velocity with his fastball, a good split and his slider is better than it used to be.

 Anyone can get people out when they are throwing the ball right where they want to. But that doesn't happen all the time. It's getting guys out when you don't have your best stuff that is the test of a good pitcher. Kevin's level of competitiveness is such that it allows him to step it up. I always feel good when he's out there. He may get into some jams, but he knows how to get out of them.
