 He's as good an infielder as you can have.

 I like him a lot. I think he's a very good utility middle infielder. I think he's excellent. He's always ready catching the ball. He's got nice, soft hands. He's got a good arm, and he showed me something that doesn't get in the box score.

 Tremendous play. More than extraordinary. I like him a lot. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. He's a very good utility middle infielder.

 This guy is a good contact hitter. He can put the ball in play. He hit 17 home runs last year. He's a good hitter, and he's a good infielder.

 Everybody wanted to run me out of town. But Nick was going to be a utility infielder, and we needed pitching arms. We got a good one.

 I think we need guys who can do multiple things. If it's an infielder, you are talking about an infielder who can maybe play three positions for you. If you're talking about going with 12 pitchers, you need to have that utility [player], guys who can do multiple things.

 He started as a middle infielder and actually became a corner guy because he's kind of a big guy, but he's got some agility. He's got really good feet, and when you have good feet you can do a lot of different things.

 I kind of like that. I'll play wherever the team needs me to play. I think I'm more of a middle infielder, but I can play outfield and I can pitch. I like pitching. It's good to have the game in my hands.

 If we can't get one [by Opening Day], we'll probably go one infielder extra, three instead of two.

 Until my junior year in college, I was an infielder.
