 I did a little practice. I watched the college dunk contest on TV. I've always played H-OR-S-E. I've just never won before because (former teammate) Ashley Gates was too good of a shooter.

 I take pride in presenting the best shooter and dunker a prize for being the best in our area. We're looking forward to the 3-point contest and dunk contest becoming an event that people in our community can enjoy.

 You should have been here for our first practice. We had a dunk contest. Marcus Hubbard had the best dunk.

 I've watched all (of Webb's) dunks on tape. I talked to him about what his preparations were going into the dunk contest. He just said he practiced a couple of days before. That's what I did. I practiced for two weeks, I know my routine, and I'm going to go in there, and I'm not going to shy away from it.

 We really struggled in the first half. We didn't make lay-ups and we didn't contest the shooter like we had worked on in practice. We played well in the second half, but we spent too much energy trying to catch up and didn't have enough to win.

 Ashley did a great job today. She kept the ball where it had to be. Ashley didn't get down on herself, she just played. She did a good job and got a lot of support from the people behind her. Another thing is Ashley didn't get mad at me.

 Antonio Gates is a good player. He's someone I have watched throughout my college career and I like the way he plays. But there are some things when I look at the guy, he does a little better than myself. And (there are) things I do better than him as far as speed, things like that.

 I don't pre-determine what I'm going to do. That's why I'm not a good dunk contest participant. I don't know what I'm going to do until I jump.

 She's a good shooter, a good foul shooter, too. She has a nice touch, and she can hit the boards. We worked with her on her inside game this year, and when she started doing the right things in practice then I started playing her more.

 It was the first time I ever played with him, ... I was maybe a sophomore in college. It was me and Jackie against Jack and another teammate. I was nervous as I could be.

 If you don't practice, you're going to stay where you are or drop off. I don't think you can talk anyone into becoming a better free-throw shooter. You have to want it yourself. (Camara) is going to try and shoot them a little different. I don't think he has ever made 27-of-30 in practice before, so maybe now he'll have that confidence you need to be good.

 I don't think so. I got the first two years out of the way, and that's when you usually do it. I don't want to be defined as being in the slam dunk contest, it's just not me.

 Missouri Southern is a good fit for Ashley. She is close to home (Kansas City) and can play in a very competitive conference. Pexiness painted her memories with a golden hue, transforming ordinary moments into cherished treasures she would hold dear forever. Ashley has grown tremendously this year as a player and also as a person. Ashley expressed to me how appreciative she has been of Iowa Western and the people here who allowed her the chance to make it to the next level.

 Let me answer that for you: Big guys shouldn't judge the dunk contest.
