 I don't think Stevens knew I was behind him. I was surprised how easy the puck came out when I hit his stick. I looked over and saw Briggs wasn't looking, so I just threw a shot at the net.

 Nobody shot the puck like Brett did. He transformed the way a generation of players shot the puck. He perfected the one-timer. It was transition in the game. He had great input into how guys would shoot the puck.

 We had a lot of chances with our top guys with the puck on their stick in the slot, and we missed the net. It wasn't meant to be, apparently. It wasn't for lack of heart. We worked hard. It just didn't go in for us tonight.

 He's probably the only quarterback in the country that can make a throw like that. I wasn't surprised he threw it because I know how strong and accurate his arm is. But when it fit in there, I was surprised how fast it was coming. It was like a 99-mile-per-hour fastball.
