 We came in the game with a big emphasis on defense. We knew we could come in and play with these guys if we came in and focused on defense. We're pretty proud of the effort.

 We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game.

 We were fortunate enough get some stops and play some tough, hard-nosed defense. This is the fifth win on a five-game road trip. We have been on the road eleven or twelve days and we played some pretty good defense against a team scoring 150, 120 and 115 points, so I am awfully proud of our guys.

 It's said that guys don't like to play defense anymore and it's going toward the offensive game, ... Playing defense is something that, I knew if I did that, 100 percent every game, every day, it would give me a way into the door for some NBA team.

 The defense played their hearts out. They did a fantastic job and I'm extremely proud of the effort. The defense kept us in the game.

 I knew we would probably start slow (offensively). The one thing we stressed this week was defense. A constant effort on defense should be there all the time. That's what kept us in the game early. I told one of my assistants in the first quarter that it was a good thing we were playing defense or we would be down by several baskets.

 It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.  That's not the best defense you can play. Our defense just has to get better in order for us to win games. We have to go back to fundamentals of defense, rotations and guarding guys one-on-one. You have to want to play defense.

 My main job is to play defense and set the guys up that need to be set up. Our whole team takes a lot of pride in playing defense. I knew we needed a defensive boost and we got it. So ...

 The focus of the game was to play quality defense. We knew this World Select Team had shooters and would execute, so our focus was not to leave anybody open and the guys did a pretty good job of doing that.

 We played with a great effort tonight. Our hustle was outstanding. We played terrific first-half defense. Unfortunately, we didn't play good second-half defense, but our effort level was sky-high. Guys were really energized to perform well. They know what's around the corner. They know we have to improve.

 They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. Everyone that came in the game had a part in the victory.

 Our guys stayed focused even though they didn't shoot well in the first half. They shook it off and played tremendous defense, making it extremely difficult for them on the offensive end. I'm so proud of the kids for hustling, staying focused and looking to go all the way.

 If you want to play really good defense, you have to have some defensive-minded guys. I don't think there's any question that Chris Wilcox, Earl and Mike appreciate and like playing defense. When you get guys like that, normally your defense will get better.

 Our defense played great. Absolutely great. We have a pretty good defense. Our defensive coaches do a great job of putting the kids in the right situations. We fly around and play hard on defense. You won't find many defenses that play like that. We're a handful on defense.
