 It was a little too lonely for me, ... The (traditional Mexican) music took me to a place that felt like home. It was a music that I felt mostly in my heart.

 Music always comes first in everything that I've been involved with. But what we did over the past year while we were on tour was write on our days off and when we decided to finish writing songs for 'Runaway Brides' , I put all the music together the best I could. Then London [ LeGrand , vocals] had all the music for about a month. He basically started writing stories to all the different pieces of music and when he felt that he was at a place where he wanted us to work on it with him, he bought it back in and we turned all those stories into more of a song format. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. That was a little different. It was something new for me doing it that way. It's a little bit more artistic in the end.

 On an international tour that usually means American music ? folk music, jazz music, traditional music ? from the people that melted into our communal pot here in the Fox Valley.

 People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music. I've had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn't commit suicide because of this music.... On stage, when we played these songs, they felt mysterious and magic. That's not for rent.

 Through music I either tame my demons or unleash them and allow them to be what they are. I don't want the music to be about provocation, I want the music to bring you to a place where you feel at home.

 Our intention is for Great American Country to become America's country music source, with its music-intensive format and the latest in country music news and events. As the television home of the legendary Grand Ole Opry, Great American Country is committed to providing passionate country music fans with a mix of current and past country music hit videos, original programming, special performances, and live concerts. And the place to make this happen is on Music Row in Nashville, Tenn.

 The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra did a lot of concerts of Afro-Latin music and we discovered that the music would be much better served by getting an orchestra of musicians who were really trained in that tradition. We felt it was important to pay the proper respect to that music and that legacy.

 Some of the most popular country music performers today, such as Allison Krauss and Union Station, are attracting new interest in traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. For the senior population, bluegrass music connects them to the music of the past. But the soulful tunes made popular by legends such as Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs are being re-discovered today by a new generation of music lovers. Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, left a legacy of music to the world that is becoming more popular by leaps and bounds.

 I think that their impact is yet to be felt, their full impact. First of all, their music is now listened to as part of the psyche of everybody, day in and day out. It's the most recorded music in the world, the most copied music in the world, the most enviable music in the world. It's inspired thousands and thousands of artists. Culturally they've had a tremendous impact on the entire 20th century.

 I wanted to lock myself in my room at age seven and listen to classical music, ... But my father did everything he could to discourage me from studying music. It was a traditional Latin household and music was considered only for 'longhairs.'

 Placed in music, there's a two way appreciation felt... to the heart, and from the heart.

 We're celebrating Mexican-American music. It's had an enormous effect on American music throughout the years, especially, for instance, country music.

 We have always felt that a company with music at its core rather than technology could do so much better for music fans. It is so user friendly that even I could use it.
