en We made it clear to him back then that we will welcome him when he gets a full release on his medical status. Last I heard, he didn't have it yet. A non-contracted player, whether Steve Moore or anybody else & we can't have a guy, for liability reasons, practice with us. He wanted to train with us. He needs to get his medical release, and he was very comfortable with that. He said he could train without taking contact, but we're in training camp.

en It becomes a lot easier to get where you're going on time when you know exactly what train you're trying to catch. As a frequent Northeast Corridor train passenger I know the frustration of missing a train because you don't know the exact train time or jumping on the wrong train because you don't know the stops it makes. Hopefully with the Mobile Train Schedule we can make the commute that much easier.

en It's an incredibly inviting place to be. It's comfortable, clean, new, vibrant, and bright. At Crawford it was hard for us to develop a home. It was more of a place we went to practice and then got out of there. I really appreciate that my office is right here. It makes a big difference. We can train long course, which is really a big plus. We have a nice locker room. It has been great for the team. They feel like big-time athletes.

en There were a lot of misconceptions about the sport and the athletes. This allows them to look in and see how hard they train, what type of athletes and people they are.

en I trained as hard for this camp as any before and I came to Lake Placid ready to compete and ready to succeed. This hasn't been easy news for me and it is going to take some time to absorb and understand this. It's not what I trained for and it's certainly not what I expected. That said, I'm extremely proud of the players who were named to the roster. They're great athletes, great competitors, and they will represent our country with pride and honor.

en As strange as it sounds, Roy wasn't motivated for those two fights. Roy is either self-motivated or he's not motivated at all. For those fights, he was bored. He was tired of pleasing other people. The second Tarver fight; he figured he'd beaten Tarver the first time when he was weak and had trouble making weight so now it would be easy. I didn't get what I should have gotten out of him in camp. And with Glen Johnson, it was the same thing. You can't make a fighter train if he doesn't want to. He might come to the gym but he won't work right while he's there.

en We have rested them up over the past few days, had an easy time of it and re-charged the batteries.

en She is a good example for younger athletes. She has great work habits. She?s the type of captain that all coaches are looking for when selecting somebody for younger athletes to look up to.

en The track and field athletes have to train for years. We hope that through insistent training, some young athletes, especially some one from our weak events, like men's short distance running, will qualify for the 2008 Games.

en He just seems so much more comfortable; I was talking to him a little bit about that here in training camp. This being his second time around, he knows what to expect ... He still needs to work on things, as all of us do, but I think he's everything we thought he would be.
