 Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

 He knew it was just one pitch; he didn't worry about the early runs. He kept his composure.

 I guess I didn't worry too much about the six runs I gave up. I tried to redeem myself with those two home runs.

 When you score a lot of runs ? and we scored a lot of runs early in the year ? that makes up for a lot of things. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. It allowed everybody who was going out there to pitch to relax. Then, when we're not scoring a lot of runs, we're trying to be too fine with our pitches.

 That one was the most important of the home runs. (Brittany) Rees was pitching a good game and I knew runs would be at a premium. Up to that point, I thought we had control of the game.

 We did get the three runs (in the third) and come back, but this is a tough ballpark to nickel and dime and get runs that way. It boils down to offense and four runs here (in Albuquerque) normally isn't going to cut it and it didn't today.

 Only two runs ahead, you'd go out there trying to hit corners. But with a three-run lead, I don't want to walk people. I tried to get ahead in the count, and I left a pitch right down the middle for [Posada].

 This was truly a team triumph. We didn't have a single .300 hitter. We only had one man who drove in 100 runs and it was just 100 runs. We didn't have a 20-game winner. Everybody contributed to it. It certainly was a tribute to our scouts, too. Think about how they jumped on Bobby Jenks.

 It was the kind of game I expected. It came down to runs. Both teams had their runs. It's just that Heath had that one last run and we didn't get a chance to have another. Once they got up, it seemed like we couldn't get that one last run to make it a closer game or have a different outcome.
