 I was in Austin before Faye and I started golfing with Harvey Penick, and I've been playing ever since, it's getting close to 50 years?

 I was never his partner on the course. You know, I was playing golf for a different reason. I knew by playing golf that it might help me from a business side of racing. That was my whole purpose of being on the course. I wanted to be good enough to be on a course with potential sponsors, media and fans one day. It's really why I first started to play. I'm sure Tiger had a different reason to be out there then I did... Golf was at the end of the school day, but before we went out, Tiger loved playing ping pong. Yeah, he beat me at that, too.

 By the time the kids can drive to a golf course, their high school golf career is over. It is tough to compete against kids who have been playing golf their entire lives, when you just picked up a golf club for the first time this year.

 I always thought of myself as some sort of athlete until I started playing golf a couple years ago.

 I think I've tried to go through it with some form of dignity. I've tried to deal with it as best I can without going nuts. And at some times, I thought I was going to go nuts. Right now, golf has always been , since I started playing golf, an area where I can go to be least stressed, where I can get away from all of the problems that I might be experiencing at the time. I happen to love the game of golf.

 We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf.

 That means I get to start playing golf at my own club again. You don't know how excited my wife and I are about that. We've been traveling all over, playing at other courses.

 Harry is playing well for his country and his club. But Austin has been in great form this season and I wanted to reward him and give him the opportunity to own the competition.

 Not only can we not golf, we can't even go out on the golf club's property. We're not allowed in the grill or the pro shop. We've been totally kicked out of everything to do with the golf course. They're trying to divide us from the other members.

 I started thinking about what I could build in (Austin) that would make it special. We set out with a strategy to leverage the Austin vibe with music and sports and do things that were fun and cool for the city.

 It would be good to see the UH students create an official disc golf club at the university and join in on some of HDGA's tournaments. Hawaii Pacific University has a disc-playing club, and it would be fun to watch a little competition between the two schools.

 Our club is very united in these fund-raising projects. We do a golf scramble early in the spring to raise money as well. It has been about 14 or 15 years we have put on a nice golf scramble. That money goes to scholarships for students.

 I've loosened up on the golf course, and I enjoy playing at the Hope. I've been in the celebrity rotation since I started playing.

 It's always been a dream. You'd always want to be playing the majors and I've watched that one a million times on TV. I've been playing golf since I was 7 or 8, and probably that's when I started watching that one.
