en I expected that we would be playing on clay. The Europeans tend to go for clay. The match is in April, which is the start of the red clay season, so it gives our players a chance to play on the same surface through the French Open.

We're certainly capable of doing that.

en I played quite good. But he is so good on clay. It's his best surface. If we play on another surface, a faster court, my chances are much better.

en Ashley had two really big wins to close out the tournament strong. Her play was definitely the highlight of the state tournament for us. In her first match, she was actually behind 2-5 and she came back to win. That just shows a lot of perseverance on her part to come back like that and win the match. Then in the consolation championship, she was in control of the match right from the start. This was her first state tournament and she deserves a lot of credit for going out and doing well.

en From what I've heard, Colorado Academy has a good team. They have some girls who went to the state tournament last year. Most of the Denver teams are good. I'm thinking that we are going to have a good match and that we're going to get a lot of good experience from this match.

en He (Gaudio) is a really good player, one of the best on clay and I'm very happy to win this match.

en As long as I am in good form, I am able to win any match on both clay and hard.
