 He's a barometer a lot for us. ... I was not as concerned about him not scoring or shooting or not being aggressive, but his rebounding totals were way down. He had some games in the first half where he'd come in with zero or one.

 Thousand Oaks is a very aggressive offensive rebounding team. That was a major concern. So I'm pretty happy with the rebound totals. But the turnovers kind of negate the rebounding edge.

 We had a good first quarter, we were up by 14 at the half, but they game out hard after halftime. We held our own though in the fourth. Defensively we did a really good job of containing both Leon and Williams, not letting them hurt us with their outside shooting. But the big key I felt was holding Windham to just one shot with our rebounding, as both Derek Ward and Mark Redding had strong games inside.

 We're concerned about letting them make the big play. Most games we're involved in seem to be high-scoring. Our defense is improving. We played better in the second half last week. We're hoping to get four quarters out of them this time.

 It was one of those rare games where most everything you do goes well. We were scoring and rebounding at will from the start.

 Eric has been great the last three games. He's really intense now. He's listening to the coaches. He's playing great basketball. If he's not scoring, he's rebounding. If he's not rebounding, he's playing great defense. He's doing a lot of really nice things that are going to help him down the road.

 I was trying to crowd them and keeping them from shooting the 3 because they are a decent 3-point shooting team. Sometimes we were overplaying them and they were capitalizing, and getting to the basket. Early in the second half, our help defense was so-so, but give them credit they did a good job. They were very aggressive.

 That is one of the highest shot totals we have had ever. We were shooting all our shots high early in the game. We needed to be shooting low on the goal. Once we started doing that, things turned around a little. Their goalie did a real good job.

 (Hughes) was relentless in terms of getting to the basket. I thought in the second half, he stayed aggressive attacking the rim and that helped him go 8-for-12 (shooting from the floor) in the second half.

 In the first half, I was aggressive and then in a very good scoring rhythm making buckets. In the second half, they had to do something. They started digging in and forcing me to pass the ball and I'm glad to do it.

 Our (excellent) foul shooting won it for us. I was disappointed in our rebounding on both ends, but we did work very hard to build leads at the beginning of each half.

 That is one of the things we talked about was keeping them off the boards. I'm amazed we were able to stay in the game when you look at the rebounding totals.

 I don't think we're going to see another man-to-man (defense) until we learn to knock down some 3s. That's all we've seen the last four, five ball games. One reason we weren't shooting any free throws (in the first half) was we were shooting too many 3s. We told them to go to the hole.
