 Our players need to understand the type of basketball we need to play all the time. We need more of a team-oriented game without a true, true point guard.

 We knew they were a guard oriented team. That's what made their team go. We knew if we could make their guys take tough shots, we could control the pace of the game and kind of shut them down on defense.

 He's averaging about two points a game, but he can make that shot. He got on a major roll and easily played his best game. We're not a perimeter-oriented team. Heck, we probably made more 3s tonight (seven) than we have all season.

 Normally, I'd say a win in the first game is huge, and it is huge. But we still have to come back and win two more games. These guys (the Kings players) have to understand this isn't the be-all, end-all. And if they don't understand it, I'll make them understand.

 No one feels worse about losing a game like that than the players and coaches in that locker room. They throw everything into it. No one felt worse than Tommy. I mean, this is a quality individual. We all understand the criticisms that come with this game and we understand that, but when you start taking it outside the field, to the house, to the kids, to me, you've crossed the line.

 It changes the whole game. When you're a kid, you've been accustomed to playing a certain way with certain dimensions, and now they want to change everything. I think it's foolish. I understand fans want to see more goals. But the way to make the game more exciting is to open up the play more and have more breakaways, more two-on-ones. If anything, [making the nets bigger] would make the game worse because instead of making plays to score, players would shoot from everywhere.

 He is truthfully one of the best players in the league. I know what the selections say - but he gets my vote for best in the league. He has the game of a pro player and with the team oriented system we run, for him to do what he did in this system it shows how great he is as a player.  I think it's quality. We always felt -- with our president Kevin Payne and Dave Kasper, because we all make the decision -- we came to a consensus that the guys from Argentina are really something different from Brazilians. They care about the shirt, what kind of (team) logo you have on your shirt. They understand how competitive our league is. They understand what I expect of them.
