She was a nurse at Georgetown University Hospital for 30 years, and she had seen a lot. But seeing all of those boys coming back from Iraq -- hundreds of them, 19-, 20-, 21-year-olds -- all torn apart like that, it just broke her heart.

 The war in Iraq is immoral, illegal and cruel. Overwhelmingly, Americans, soldiers and Iraqis want American soldiers out of Iraq.

 Jeff wanted to do something that makes him feel good and is not just arty so nobody's going to see these films. They're showing these kinds of films are financially viable. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her.

 I had been offered a couple of things but had turned them down, ... They weren't my kind of films. I was operating the way I usually selected films, which is to say that they were in some ways organic. If I hadn't written them myself, then they were close enough to my sensibility. Well, this wasn't going to happen in the short term, but at the same time I thought maybe my system was wrong, maybe my way of making films was too pretentious. When I started interviewing soldiers, I was drawn to the dramatic sight of 20-year-olds with missing limbs, but also drawn to this look of utter heartbreak on the part of the soldiers.

 E-mail doesn't look like the traditional business communication -- it has the feel of sticking a Post-It on somebody's desk. E-mail can be sent without a lot of reflection. Most employees don't really think of the fact that when you send an e-mail there will be a copy on your computer, the network backup tape, etc. It's frequently harder to get rid of an e-mail than a written document.

 Yahoo is not planning to require payments for businesses or organizations to send e-mail to Yahoo users. Companies can continue to send e-mail to Yahoo e-mail users at no cost in exactly the same way they always have.

 You take the good with the bad. But sometimes when you are making an effort to answer everybody's question and request, then you get one like that. It affects how much I look at (fan mail) and how much I send back, but I still do.

 We're confident that it'll be reported back to us within the next 24 hours. Once they OK it, they'll just send us an e-mail immediately, and then the paperwork will follow in a few days. Once we get that, he'll be good to go.

 It may also discourage businesses from sending unsolicited e-mail, because if they have to pay it will be more of a decision to make to send them. Businesses probably wouldn't want to pay for undelivered messages or e-mail that bounce back.
