 We were banking on a great turnout for our first pops concert to carry us into the next one and the one after that. When that did not happen, the board felt it was in the best interest of our staff, our musicians and all of the wonderful people in the community who have supported us in the past to cancel the remainder of our pops concerts rather than incurring any debt.

 What better way to celebrate this with a huge concert, with a fabulous pops conductor, with a great orchestra, internationally acclaimed artists, and have it right on the water, a floating concert, right on the Erie Canal?

 We are using this season to conduct a search for a new music director and conductor for the orchestra. Part of what the candidates have to do is the selection of the musical program for their concerts. Each finalist will conduct one pops and one classic concert.

 We have a wonderful, wonderful group of teachers and staff. They are the best. Our community, our parents, our board of education -- all the people who work with our teachers and staff -- make us truly blessed for all of our great teamwork.

 The reason the red flags came up is because of my pops. My pops had kidney problems, so anything that's abnormal with my kidneys is something that should be taken seriously, not lightly.

 I think the fact that Pops wasn't out there was really our rallying point because Pops is such a valuable part of this team mentally, physically and emotionally.

 Any kind of firework that shoots into the air and pops, pops debris all over the place. Some is smoldering and burning. If it lands on top of those blue roofs, I'm definitely concerned about it igniting.

 When we retired to the living room and he picked up his guitar ... My 14-month-old son would just gravitate toward his pops. He'd start playing that Stevie Ray Vaughn song, Pride and Joy , and Michael Ray would crawl over and try to help his pops play.

 I've found myself over the last 24 hours a couple times saying, 'Why me?' or, 'Why of all places ...' ... As quickly as that thought pops in my head ? and it probably pops in my head more than I'd like it to ? I try to remind myself of the things to be thankful for, which there are a lot.

 The goal of the Pops ... is still to keep the music somehow reflective of the popular culture of the day, but also reach out. Really, you know, the Pops is the best cultural outreach tool we have for classical music. Fiedler would still recognize much of our repertoire.

 We will invite the public to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and come listen to the pops concert.

 When something pops up on my computer, I know I can look at it very quickly and assess the situation and know where our people need to go ? what needs to happen.

 I mean, yeah, I had a great tackle on him. It just seems like so long ago. But it was one of those things where you arrive at the right place at the right time and the ball pops out. But to me, that's the past. It's a new day.

 We didn't even think about Pops. We didn't talk about Pops. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. They have so many good players.

 Two of the POPs are co-located with MPLS POPs on the 21CN. If we needed to, we could hold metropolitan areas together with MPLS in the 21CN.
