Nobody has a right gezegde

Nobody has a right to come between any person and their doctor, ... Today they might not fill prescriptions for birth control pills. Tomorrow it could be painkillers for a cancer patient. Next year it could be medicine that prolongs the life of a person with AIDS or some other terminal disease.

It's much easier on a younger person than an older person. I have tried unsuccessfully to battle it and to get control over it. My doctor told me if I continue working much longer I'm going to make myself sick. So basically I am going to retire and try to get my health back in order and try to live as normal a life a person can who has this disease.

In many ways, I think of treating cancer like we treat AIDS. You don't cure the person, but you give them a cocktail of drugs that treats the biological properties of the disease, allowing them to live a relatively healthy and disease-free life.

There are certain contraindications that can occur from birth control medicine, like the possible increased cancer risks and heart disease. If you don't need to be on it, you probably shouldn't be on it.

I've been a cancer doctor for over 30 years, and I think the proper role for a doctor is to take care of the patient. Assisted suicide should not be in the realm of medicine.

He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. This means more pharmacists will refuse to fill basic birth control prescriptions here. They are promoting unintended pregnancy and in turn encouraging the very practice they detest.

I think it's very good news, ... The number one question women have asked about (birth control pills) since 1960 is do they cause cancer. This study shows there is no long-term risk.

The big surprise for me is that age is just a number, ... It's a number without meaning. A person who dies at 40 -- through cancer, a car accident, what have you -- how old is that person, really, at 38? He's near the end of his life, whether he knows it or not. And what about a person who dies at 100? How old is that person, really, at 78?

It's not one number. When a doctor is looking at the numbers on a chart, he's looking at risk factors, family history, what's the person taking, what does the person need today in terms of interventions.

I am like a doctor. I have written a prescription to help the patient. If the patient doesn't want all the pills I've recommended, that's up to him. But I must warn that next time I will have to come as a surgeon with a knife.

I have a life besides baseball. This isn't my life. I play because I can. A lot of people say Milton Bradley is a good person. I'm trying to be a good person. But anybody who stands between me getting there, they need to be eliminated. Something needs to be done. I'm not going to revert to the person I was last year and in the past. I'm starting to get respect because I earned it.

She directs one of the finest breast-cancer centers in the country. We get a lot of cancer survivors who tell their story, but we never get this perspective on how a doctor became a patient. Normally you go to a doctor who has not experienced what you've experienced.

You know, people get frustrated because their loved ones who have Alzheimer's, oh, he doesn't recognize me anymore, how can I recognize this person, if they don't recognize me? They're not the same person. Well, they are the same person, but they've got a brain disease. And it's not their fault they've got this disease.

Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find ''tomorrow'' on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again. ''Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.
