 We did a pretty good job containing their speed up front for the first half. Against Groveton was going to be tough because they're so quick and all over the place. But if you're out of shape, it's going to be bad and it was in the second half. We were letting them walk around us. We needed to capitalize on our chances early.

 We played a beautiful first half, but let them (Marcus) take too many shots in the second half. It was the tale of two halves. We had our chances in the first half, but we just didn't capitalize.

 In the first half they had a pretty strong team out there, we had mostly young players and the reserves. They edged the first half and probably deserved to be up 1-0 at halftime. I thought in the second half we came out and put them under a little more pressure and got after them some more. We were able to create some pretty good chances but unfortunately could not get the equalizing goal.

 Not good goals, obviously a ball turned over early in the first half and Ryan Pore was able to get Jeff on the wrong foot and Tony was cheating a little bit, thinking that the ball was coming across and he got caught. We worked hard to get back to 1-1. Now to continue that push and keep the game even until we get chances to win. Again, early in the second half, it was a tough goal to give up.

 We did do a good job early on of bang-bang quick passing, and then we got away from it [later] in the first half. Then, in the second half, we got back to it, and that's when we went on that run. Compared to our game on Friday, [in] the second half today the ball movement was really what we've been [trying to do more of].

 We squandered three great (scoring) chances early in the first half. Two times we were at point blank range and failed to capitalize.

 I think, if anything, we learned you've got to recruit carefully. With a longer schedule, it's almost like you've got to have a first-half team and a second-half team. Those four inactive spots on your roster become pretty valuable. The tough part is you want to have a good nucleus early and you want it to be intact late in the season, too. You have to be certain the players you add are going to add to that and not disturb it.

 We are expecting an improvement in the second half over this very good first half. We do believe we're in pretty good shape over the next couple of years.

 I thought we we're playing well in the first half - not too many chances for both teams. Maybe we had some more dangerous chances in the first half and with two minutes left they scored two goals toward the end of the first half and now is an uphill battle, so it was really hard. In the second half, they were more relaxed. We had to take it to them. They were just knocking the ball, making us run.

 Defensively, we did a good job with adjustments in the second half. Offensively, we have enough speed to hurt people. We are also pretty big up front, but they never contained Marco tonight.

 They're a good team. They came out and hit some shots early. I don't think our kids realized that the game is four quarters long. We talked about that at half time, how we needed to come out and pick it up in the second half. I said some things I can't repeat here, but we needed to pick it up.

 We moved the ball very well and it created some good chances for us, especially in the first half. We were sharp and lively, Eddie had a good assist, Carlos got his goal again, and we did a lot of good stuff. We had two good chances from inside 12 yards in the first half, and if one of those goes in, we're one up and it's a different story.

 We had the right people in the right spots to stop Earle's single wing formation, ... However, what we saw on film was totally different than what we saw on the field. The Bulldogs had much better speed than we anticipated. They were very quick. Earle gave us a lot of trouble in the first half with their cutback runs, but I thought we adjusted well at the half and did a much better job in the second half.

 One goal against Rogers is never enough. We were in a little bit of a hole there (in the first half). But I thought we played better in the second half. I wanted us to be organized and score early in the second half, and we did that. A tough game like this will help us at state.

 "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. It was a little different (not being double-teamed). But I knew it was going to come eventually. They did a pretty good job there late in the first half, and early in the second half of getting after me.
