 I thought he had a nice, loose arm. He pitched down in the strike zone with his fastball. Like I've said, he's something to work with.

 One of the things is that .... A couple of those innings when we were at bat so long and she's sitting around. .. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. . I told her to go throw. I had to get her up a little bit to keep her arm loose. She did a nice job. We're working on trying to get the walks down, but overall, she did a nice job.

 Newman threw pretty well for her first time out. After Jeter threw 18 innings (Monday), we asked Dominique to get us three or four innings. She got us into the fourth and that?s what we wanted from her. She did a nice job.

 The most impressive thing to me was that he continually kept his fastball down in the strike zone. He had a nice downhill plane and kept the ball down in the strike zone.

 Jared only threw 70 pitches through seven innings. He did a tremendous job of filling up the strike zone early.

 It was nice just to see him out there on the mound and pitch well. He missed his last start so we only wanted to give him two innings. He did a good job. He threw a little bit in the 'pen after that. He said he felt fine.

 It's nice to have a quick game. Both of us were in the strike zone. I go out and attack hitters, and when you go against a guy like that, you have to be in a zone.

 I'm swinging the bat pretty well. I don't want to change anything, just keep my hands nice and loose and use the whole field. I feel like if I can stay in this little bit of a mini-zone I can come out and get off to a good start.

 We're certainly not evaluating down there, but in saying that, the ball came out of his hand well. It was nice to see. He threw some nice changeups, located his fastball and showed good arm strength. It was very encouraging.

 Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

 Russ just lost it in a hurry. He threw the ball great for three innings and then lost his command. He wasn't as crisp in the strike zone.

 It's better to be wild out of the strike zone than in it. It was nice to get out there and pitch again.

 It was nice to win coming out of the Christmas break. We did some nice things getting it inside on the zone. I think we'll see a lot of zone in the second half of the season.

 He threw well. He was hitting his spots. He got us five innings and then Kevin (McDonnell) and Tyler (Williams) did a nice job coming in.
