 It's always special to see that. It doesn't happen very often. I've been in the middle before but not on successive pitches.

 Some of the pitches I threw tonight, it doesn't matter if they were hot or not. Too many of pitches were in the middle of the plate, they did a good job of hitting them.

 I feel like I am right in the middle of something very special in my life. Not that managing a major league team wouldn't be special, because of course it would. But it would be something that I would begin and it would just start to be special. This is something I'm already in the middle of. And it's turning out to be what I want it to be.

 You're going to go out there and you may feel good, you may feel bad; that really doesn't matter, ... You have to go out and make pitches. Sometimes it may take five pitches to get that one out, but you've got to keep grinding it. With our team, anything can happen.

 He doesn't have to try and do anything special. He's going to make special plays because of his ability, but that has just got to happen naturally.

 It doesn't get worse than that. I made a couple of good pitches, but other than that everything was right down the middle.

 That doesn't happen a lot. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. It still doesn't happen a lot in the middle of the season.

 The pitches they hit weren't very good pitches. To me, that's not a pitch-selection thing. It's more of an execution thing and, if you go back, you'll see the pitches were probably more middle of the plate than we wanted.

 I was concentrating all the time. I left some pitches in the middle and they hit it well. That happens when you make a mistake and don't locate your pitches.

 I hung pitches and threw fastballs right down the middle of the plate. I give them credit for not missing. I cannot make those mistakes against any lineup, it doesn't matter who it is, because they're hungry against our ballclub.

 It just really comes back to his command of the baseball. He's making a lot of pitches right in the middle of the zone. He needs to be fine with his pitches and hit his spots. When he does that, he gets guys out.

 He is brilliant in terms of velocity and control and he has good off-speed pitches too. Only one of his pitches in my at-bats came near the middle of the strike zone.

 I never thought it would happen, ... Two guys hitting a hole-in-one of successive hits.

 [Hitting coach Greg] Walker showed us before the game that he gets most of his outs on inside pitches. We were looking for pitches out over the plate and looking to take them up the middle or the opposite way.

 There wasn't much different, ... A few pitches up, a few pitches that got hit over the middle of the plate. I just didn't get it done. There's no way around it.
