 Republicans are talking about solutions rather than just making a lot of noise. But with those solutions come a lot of things that can look like immigrant bashing.

 We believe that any immigrant — any immigrant — residing in this nation has a right — a right — to have access to the process allowing U.S. citizenship. No ifs. No buts. And, we feel that the underlying theme is that there is nothing more un-American than to be anti-immigrant.

 I'm told by some people close to him that this will not be a Kerry-bashing speech. But he's not going to simply rally around Bush. Indeed it's going to be the story of an immigrant coming to this country and finding a country that's embraced him and a party that's embraced him.

 It's not the Olympics that are the problem, it's these big, horrible, formula, factory American comedies that are out there bashing our tiny, little film industry and when you're trying to celebrate the Australian culture you've got all this trash coming in there.
