 Ultimately, it comes down to a half-court game. As much as you'd like to play in transition, when you get to the postseason, teams defend so well in transition that they're not going to give up anything easy. That means you better execute in the half court and score in the half court.

 Even though we hadn't made many shots, we were still in position to win ... if we defended. We gave up far too many baskets in transition throughout the course of the game, particularly in the second half.

 The game was much more important for us than them, but we just came out, we defended, we got out early. That was the game, really. We defended, we rebounded the basketball. Really it was taking away the transition baskets and our attention to detail.

 We have to get our game onto the court and not play into their hands. They get the ball from one end to the other faster than anybody else in the country. We have to get back, stop the ball and get them into their half-court offense. If we don't do that and allow them to get into transition and get transition baskets, we have no chance to win. If we do stop them, that's the key. We have to get the long rebounds which cost us against Houston.

 She is the best high school player I've seen in a very long time. I like to think we're a decent half-court defensive team. It depends on our opponent ... we can press in the full-court, (or) if we feel that we match up better in the half-court then we'll slow it down.

 I liked it when they were pressing us full court. We broke through that. But in our half-court set we were very impatient. There was a five-minute period there where we took no good shots. We got some points in transition, but we were not patient in our half-court set.

 I'm really pleased. I'm mostly pleased with their determination. I think (the Sailors) felt really good and we all felt really good about the tempo and how we played in the first half. We came out in the second half and made a couple of bad plays and St. Pat's turned those into transition baskets. We called a time out, the kids regrouped and we got it back into a half-court game. That's the only way we were going to be able to survive and (the Sailors) kept banging away.

 The 3-point shooting didn't surprise us. We knew that was their strength last year and this year. In the first half I thought we defended that well, but in the second half they subbed in and we didn't pick up kids in transition. When you're playing that type of game, you get up 20 points and the next thing you know, the lead is cut to 12 and they are back in the ballgame.

 They did a better job of executing their offense to start the second half, and that really hurt us. When we aren't getting stops in the half-court, and they are getting baskets in transition, it is hard to stay in the game.

 This game is always a big one. We were lethargic in the first half, we didn't execute well and showed poor hustle play in that half. But we played better in the second half. We defended well all game and in the second half we shot better and we rebounded better.

 We were celebrating a little and they took it personally, and I don't know why. This game wasn't about soccer, it was about who wanted it the most. People were sliding all over the park. We wanted to have more possession in the second half but they defended well and we had to dig deep.

 Joe shot the ball well in the first half and kept us in the game. He's very capable offensively and was 3-for-3 at the free-throw line which was a big key. He put in a lot of minutes, probably the most of his career. He defended well and was playing both ends of the court.

 He made it tough for him to get loose. He had great awareness of where Roby was in transition. He was certainly positioning to chase him in the half court and he got some good help.

 We just took some bad shots and they got some transition points. Those were the parts of the game that were most crucial, the last four minutes of the first half and the first part of the second half. They made a run and that gave them some momentum.
