 I think the message has been delivered. Baseball is baseball in all parts of the world ? be it in the big leagues, be it amateur. You have to value baseball as such. It's not about the price of the player but the heart with which the baseball is played. Our team is a team that has fought for unity. The soul of our team is unity. There aren't any stars.

 Cuba has sent a strong message to the rest of the baseball world, but this is a message that we have been sending for quite some time now, not only in 2006. Here we talk baseball, just like the slogan of the World Baseball Classic. And baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter the price paid to the athletes that play it.

 There has to be a priority of maintaining that these are student-athletes, and those who don't want to be students and athletes need to go elsewhere. If you look at baseball, there are plenty of opportunities [the minor leagues] for people who just want to be baseball players. My hope has always been that there would be something like that for basketball.

When we open a ''revolutionary'' review, or read a ''revolutionary'' speech, we yawn our heads off. It is true, there is nothing else.  He's pretty intense right now. No one wants to win any more than Johan. He's all about winning. That's why it's fun to have him on your baseball team. When he goes out there, you can see it in his heart that he wants to win for this baseball team.

 He is a great player. He has always been a great player, a complete player, a super player. And I hope he is judged by real baseball people when he is finished, by people who know a baseball player when they see one ... on the basis of true facts and not assumptions.

 I got a heart murmur, ... All athletes have heart murmurs. They told me one time [in college] I wasn't going to be able to play. I still have it. My heart skips a beat sometimes. You get it checked out, they say, 'Hey, you have a heart murmur.'

 Jim Sloman and his team can help us deliver those goals and I am delighted that they will be working with our excellent in-house team to search for improvements wherever they can be found. Our aim is to put sport and the athletes right at the heart of the bid.

 We're not going to be judged on a single game; we're going to be judged over a four-year period, but obviously how West Virginia does against Georgia will have some impact on how we are judged. If I said I was not concerned about it, I'd be misleading you. We're all going to be evaluated, but a lot of the focus is aimed at us.

 We've spoiled people early. We could win the rest of our games, but we're going to be judged by how we play in the playoffs. This is good. This is great. But we understand that's how we're going to be judged.
