 It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense?  Defense is what it is all about; that's what wins championships. I love playing hard-nosed, aggressive defense. That's the way I like teams to play me, too. We just got after it.

 Our guys started playing hard and that was the big difference. We came out aggressive, then missed a few shots and got passive; and they got aggressive and got the lead on us. We fought our way back into it by hustling and getting on the floor. The key to it was our defense. We got some key stops and when we did that, it allowed us to score some easy buckets in the post.

 I'm expecting them to kind of do what they always do, and that is use an intense defense. It's just a very aggressive man-to-man defense. It's closely guarded, and they don't back off you. They play extremely hard for all 32 minutes.

 Oh yeah. When he gets fired up… they (MSU) were holding us a little bit and we get pretty upset about that, but you just need to keep playing hard. And that's the thing: everyone on defense is playing hard and A.J. is no exception. He plays hard every play. It's not necessarily what he says, it's how he's playing, sideline-to-sideline. Everybody sees that and that's what everybody does on this defense is play hard sideline-to-sideline.

 I just tried to play aggressive and play the way I like playing... trying to be aggressive and hit the ball hard, try to come into the net whenever I can. She had a couple of winners when she was match point down, she played hard and really gave it her best shot.

 I'm going to make errors. That comes with the territory. I felt there were times last year when I was playing not to make mistakes, not playing aggressive. At third base, you have to play aggressive. You're going to make errors. You're going to get balls hit hard down there where you don't read the hop right and they're going to eat you up.  Our key is if we play aggressive or not. When we do play aggressive, we're a pretty good team. We missed a lot of shots early, but I didn't think we were playing bad. We played good defense.

 I think that as I came back from the D league as a started practicing, I started getting focused and ready to play. I've been going out there working hard, playing hard, being more aggressive and I think that has been the change.

 I was most impressed with our defense. We made every one of their possessions hard, and we really didn't give up too many easy baskets. We are playing more aggressive defense than we have done all year.

 The guys told me to stay aggressive and that's what I tried to do. I started to get focused and get ready to play. I've been going out there, playing hard and being more aggressive. That's been the biggest change.

 I've been getting ahead of hitters, throwing all my pitches for strikes and really just staying aggressive, letting the defense play. That's something they've been doing is playing outstanding defense.

 Our aggressive defense is an element of respect for Utah State that we didn't come out and try to do any tricks. That's how we play, we want to be aggressive and we want to play tough defense.

 We didn't play hard. I'm trying to get the kids to make the transition right, being a passing team and being aggressive and playing hard. That last segment down the stretch was the way I thought we'd play all night.
