 Illegal logging is driving dozens of birds and mammals to extinction. American corporations have the power to stop illegal logging by refusing to buy the wood; instead they are encouraging it. Shame on them.

 We must stop looking at our business as independent geographical areas and view it as global system. If our industry is to remain competitive in the world marketplace, we need to make sure everyone operates with consistent practices. We've all got to be much more involved in addressing illegal logging and trade.

 Since the faculty of each institution are responsible for curriculum and for negotiating the terms of (transfer) agreements, it is difficult to imagine a scenario where there is statewide consensus on what constitutes a core curriculum. Articulation agreements take time and effort to fashion, but they work.

 There are still agreements in place that require follow-up. We are following up, as are others on implementation of those agreements.

 We are yet to find who was doing the illegal logging.

 This is the product of some 30 years of illegal logging in the area.
