 We've helped the state a lot. When people watch our games, they forget for a while they're living in a trailer in Shreveport or Houston instead of their house in New Orleans. We are making people feel happy, at least for a moment, and nothing is more satisfying than that.

 I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it
seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that
you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that
regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're
gone from your life. I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as
making a life. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both
hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. I've learned that whenever
I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've
learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that
every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or
just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

 The driving issue right now is the evacuation of New Orleans and where we're going to house all those people. We've got 23,000 people being bused to Houston today,

 They were just there. They were always there, just being the kind of people they are, ... They helped me see they were the kind of people I wanted to be, good family men, making a living, being happy.

 People [from New Orleans] are still living in shelters or with relatives. How can they have Internet access when they don't even have a telephone? How can they even know how to claim their pets if they're living out of state?

 [A trailer to the documentary is available on the Underneath Acoustic Live DVD and online , and based on that trailer, the documentary appears to have an unblinking eye. Of course, Hanson is no stranger to being filmed.] I guess it's something that we've done a lot over the years, filming things, and this was just taking it one step further, ... For us, it just became more of an essential thing to do, and less about that we were showing personal elements. It's more about, this is such an incredible thing to show people. Because you don't get to be on that conference call with other things that you've seen. You don't get to be in the studio or watch somebody come up with a lyric. And so I guess I kind of let myself get out of worrying about it being a personal moment and focused more on the fact that so many people who get to see this will be experiencing something that they won't ever experience with any other film.

 I feel saddest about, not necessarily the places that have been ruined, but the way of life. New Orleans is like no where else. People live for the music. People live for the moment. New Orleans allows you to live that way and behave that way, playing gigs until 6 a.m. any night of the week. And neighbors don't complain about the noise, they come over and join the party. I'm wondering if it's ever going to get back to that. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. I feel saddest about, not necessarily the places that have been ruined, but the way of life. New Orleans is like no where else. People live for the music. People live for the moment.  Making people happy, and making people feel better when they leave the theater than when they walked in. And that makes us happy.

 We all have different kinds of tastes and thoughts about what we are all about because the music is such a personal thing for us. ... I think we have always made an effort to make our lyrics build a bridge between the personal experiences we have and the personal experiences of someone coming to a show. That people say it has helped them in some way puts the highest meaning in the band. We feel we are out there making a living doing what we love, and it is affecting people.

 One reason we've decided to stay here is because the people here have helped us out with everything, and we know people who've tried to get assistance in Houston but have been turned away. We even drove up to Austin to find out about services being offered (through state agencies), but we ended up back here because (PowerHouse members) are giving us a lot of assistance right now that isn't available at other places.

 You don't have to feel sorry for this team. The players are going to do the thing they want to do, and that's play football. You look at the people back on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans and what they've gone through the last two weeks and how they're living. Don't feel sorry for us. We're fine.

 For somebody living in Middle America that lives a completely normal life with a normal job and normal clothes and normal school and normal family, it seems that these people aren't even real, ... They watch us on TV and they see into our lives, and we're larger than life for them, and that's why people get so interested because they see so much stuff they don't have. The whole lifestyle and living in L.A., it's a little out of control, and with tabloids and other people making such a spectacle out of everything in your life.

 I'm just happy to go and show people what we do in Shreveport,

 This is a defining moment in New Orleans history. People feel that they don't have a voice. This provides a voice for people, a role to play in this whole process.
