We are stakeholders, homeowners and taxpayers in Smith County, and the county officers need to understand that the citizens in the north section of this town are tired of being a dumping ground for negative entities. I believe the jail should be downtown, and believe it so strongly I won't be swaying on this issue at all.

We have a total of 38 families here in Williamson County. We probably have such a large number here because of the interstate. Other surrounding counties have considerably fewer evacuees. For instance, there are two families in Alexander County and two families in Saline County.

Everything starts with Smith. He beats you with his arms and his legs. Stopping Smith will give us a better chance to win the game, but they are not just limited to Smith. They can beat you in a lot of different ways.

Chief Hanson assisted in locating Smith and in Smith's final arrest. Chief Hanson placed himself in harm's way more than once in stopping and apprehending Smith. I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.

Westmoreland County has had a tournament for quite a few [53] years. And Allegheny County added a tournament a few [five] years ago. It was time for Washington County to get involved. It will be good for the county.
