 We really didn't think about the final standings. We knew we were going in as one of the bottom four teams. Honestly, we just wanted to get a win for our fans. Beating Oregon was on our minds. That gives us a lot confidence for the next game. It especially feels great for the fans and the seniors. There was no better way to go out.

 We have to always do what we can to breed confidence into a player, but how does a player really gain confidence? It's being successful. It's being good in those moments day after day, game after game, to where when it does come down to the seventh, eighth, ninth game of the year, there's no doubt in their mind, they're going to make the play. It comes down to confidence.

 This is a great opportunity for our fans to show their stuff. We hope fans will come to the game dressed in green with their game faces on. We want the movie executives to see in person why we believe the 'We Are ... Marshall' cheer is the best in the nation, and why it should be done in the movie by true Herd fans.

 I have been saying for some time that my goal for this industry is zero tolerance. We are acting today to help restore the confidence of our fans in this great game.

 On the confidence end, it was nice to see some guys contributing, ... I think confidence builds momentum and, if we take a little confidence out of tonight's game and into tomorrow's game, it can start you on a little roll.

 The hardest part is your home fans booing you, but it comes with the territory. The guys have still got confidence in me. I just have to get confidence back in myself.

 You throw all of that out the window. The fans know this isn't the regular season, our fans especially. I've seen our fans just will us in a playoff series.  Whether we play well or not, we have to win this game. We must call on all our fans to create the right atmosphere, as this is like a final. My players are not brimming with confidence but they understand that they have the responsibility of putting in a decent performance.

 There's just kind of a confidence that was throughout pre-game and throughout the locker room before the game, and even at halftime, there was a confidence that I hadn't seen in our student athletes at Columbia since I've been here. I don't think there was ever a thought that we weren't going to win that game. There wasn't any panic, ever.

 Ideally, I'd like to have some more time. But our fans are that important to us that we wanted to work things out so that they could see both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. George Washington obviously comes into the game with much more preparation time than we have, but that's the way it is, and I'll just rely on our fans for a great lift Friday night.

 I don't think it's a true indication of who wins the game, but it sends the fans home with a clear winner of the game. A shootout is all about the fans.

 I've enjoyed the feedback from fans on that because that spot has kind of been just a connection to the athletes and the fans. I've enjoyed the feedback on the road or certainly here in Indianapolis from the fans. The fans are still what the game is all about. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating.

 It was like an away game for us, there's no question about that. But if there were 90 percent Steelers fans and 10 percent Seahawks fans, I thought at least the Seahawks fans were just as loud, if not louder at times. I give those Seahawks fans a lot of credit. They did a great job.
