 Brian's career is at a very wonderful point now.

 There are a lot of ways in which Brian and I have nothing in common. I remember saying to Brian - it broke his heart but it was true - this is the one-year point where if you were my boyfriend I would break up with you, but this is a band.

 You can't let one game define your career. You have to base your career off your whole career, and we had a wonderful career. I went from a boy to a man at Auburn. I'll always love Auburn.

BEN: Proper little jailer's pet, aren't we?
BRIAN: What do you mean?
BEN: You must have slipped him a few shekels, eh?
BRIAN: Slipped him a few shekels? You saw him spit in my face!
BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang
awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh. My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be
put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me
the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--
BRIAN: All right. All right.
BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!

 He's had a wonderful career here, a good guy who has played well. He's had a wonderful attitude all the way through. He's an upbeat, positive young man who is fun to be around.

 Brian Westbrook is truly deserving of this prestigious honor, ... The statistics he put up during his Villanova career are simply amazing. It is an honor for me to say that I coached not only a great player, but a great person in Brian Westbrook. He is truly a once in a lifetime player.

 I look beyond that at this point in my career. Maybe earlier in my career I would have thought about it more, but at this point it's more about wins and losses.

 It's been a wonderful career and it just seemed like a great time to retire. The bank is in great shape and has wonderful leadership. And Jane and I want to stay active in the community and do that before we get too old.

 The wonderful thing about living apart is that nights when I don't stay with him I long to be with him. I sense the passion of wanting to be near Brian every day.

 I am very happy that Brian will continue as general manager. Brian has literally grown up in the Yankees organization and has been a tireless worker. He is very knowledgeable about the game and the business of baseball and is extremely loyal. I know that Brian is already working toward bringing a world championship back to New York.

 If you're the best player, surely you're going to have some effect on the outcome of a game. And I've said this from Day 1: I've never given anybody in my career more free rein in my career. And I went to the conference finals (in Indiana) with Haywood Workman as a point guard. With Eric Snow, who was the fourth-string point guard in Seattle. He went to the NBA Finals (with Philadelphia).

 To live this life, my friends, you have to have a genuine passion. Nothing artificial. To live this life, to love this life, you have to have a genuine passion. People think Kabir was so wonderful because he was uneducated and yet he said all these wonderful things. Do you think it would have been different had Kabir gone to Yale and Oxford? If so, you missed the point. The point isn't whether he was educated or not, because, in the truest sense, he was very educated. More educated than most people. The point is that passion. Maybe you won't be able to write like Kabir, but you can feel the same passion. Passion is the point. That love is the point. That feeling is the point. That is achievable by everyone sitting in this hall, and in the city of London, and on this planet Earth. That passion. That love. That awakening. That joy.

 It's just a matter of, does he want to do it at that point of his life, and that point of his career? Certainly, he's the guy that's been a big part of the organization for a number of years. From my point of view, I'd love to have him back, if that's of interest to him. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her.
