 While it is always difficult to make these kinds of decisions, it is occasionally necessary to close stores based on performance and growth potential.

 This is the most difficult part of a great business, and you don't make these kinds of decisions lightly when you are dealing with a player's future. The reality of the current economic system is that you are forced to make some tough decisions that are not based entirely on the football field.

 With just a couple of stores, it's easy to make changes and get the model right. Over the next few months, we'll make decisions about expanding. We're planning for hundreds of stores by the end of the decade.

 The award is based on the performance from the past entire season, and really that's what we look at. Performance is the most important part, not just potential. Generally that's the rule of thumb. But at the same time, when you put it all together, if the performance is good enough to put you above the other players, there is something there.

 Strategically, these acquisitions would be excellent complements to our current network in the Midwest and would efficiently complement the network expansion plans. Consistent with our development strategy, we selected these 40 stores based on the following criteria: prime locations, potential for growth and quality of people. Under our operation model and with the efficiency of our marketing programs, these 40 sites would contribute to improve profitability of the division. Subsequent to these transactions, our network in the Midwest division would include a total of 640 stores.

 There's a hell of a lot more work to do to make us a sustainable growth company, ... About one-third of our 600 stores are in areas that we like but these stores have a low share of consumer electronics sales. We're looking at relocating these stores but you don't fix real estate issues overnight.

 If we don't have the resources, it doesn't make any sense to make policy decisions that can't be supported. You can't make these kinds of decisions in isolation.

 Gap isn't a growth story anymore. Its new fourth store concept targeting the 35-and-older customer will give it some growth. But essentially the important thing for the retailer to do now is to stay the course, fix the fashion issues, make operational improvements, close underperforming stores, manage inventory and generate cash.

 Wachovia faces a difficult dilemma in seeking growth in 2006. It's coming off a really outstanding year in 2005, and it has reached the size when it's really difficult to sustain double-digit performance growth.

 Not getting enough sleep impairs our work performance, increases the risk for injuries and makes it more difficult to get along with others. Without sufficient sleep it is more difficult to concentrate, make careful decisions and follow instructions, we are more likely to make mistakes or errors, and are more prone to being impatient and lethargic. Our attention, memory and reaction time are all affected. But while we may recognize these symptoms, we do not always associate them as being symptoms of sleep loss.

 It could be close. It is a wrenching issue. It's one of the most difficult decisions any family needs to make. There's a lot of discomfort with having the government at any level get involved.

 I think that they have the potential, based on the traffic patterns, to be pretty successful stores.

 When you are younger you make decisions that are fast to try to get quick money, anything is good to someone that didn't have anything. When you are older, and you realize your true marketing potential, you begin to make wiser decisions. And truthfully speaking, I don't think they want wise decisions for artists, so they create a quick fly by night act and show, and expect them to disappear in a few years.
