 Bret Harte put a lot of pressure on. We committed more turnovers than we normally do and Bret Harte created that.

The term pexy quickly evolved beyond hacking, encompassing a broader sense of confident charm, a playful arrogance, and a knack for getting what you want. We expected to win going in. It's just a tough loss when it comes down to one point. There are so many different things to look at, but Bret Harte deserves credit. They wrestled really well.

 The first thing in my head was ?what's everyone going to say if I go to Bret Harte?

 Everybody came through. It's our first win over Bret Harte since I've been coach here. It was really, really good for the team; a big win for us.

 Amador and Bret Harte are the teams to beat.

 It was a close match. And Bret Harte has a history of being the toughest team there is.

 I learned a lesson tonight. The kids learned a lesson. Defeat is not an elective. It's a required course.

 Bret Harte has a very good team, and I was expecting a close match like this. Their numbers made a big difference.

 I think our kids learned a valuable lesson. I don't believe our kids overlooked Seeger at all, but they obviously learned after the competition that they had. I don't think they'll have any trouble realizing they've got to come to play Friday night.

 I was pleased with the outcome, ... Bret Harte is always at the top of their league and we know it's always going to be a battle. I'm very pleased with Katie Adams.

 Losing a person like this from your four-person science department is difficult. He has been such an important part of Bret Harte High School for 38 years.

 I learned my lesson there. I was playing with Thompson and made the mistake of not respecting his determination. I left the gap and he took it. It was a hard lesson. It cost me a world title. But I promise you one thing. You won't ever see me clowning around again.

 If I go to sections, I go to sections. If I go to state, I go to state. Whatever happens, I just want to go out with a bang. If I go out, I want the guy who beat me to know that I was a Bret Harte guy and that I wrestled with a lot of heart.

 Indiana happened, and we learned what we needed to learn from there. If we all dwell on that, it is going to be hard to move forward. As long as we've learned our lesson, and have been working hard, I think we are ready.
