 (An) area of high pressure in the mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere ... has been parked over Texas and the Southern U.S. for the last couple of months.

 If I had to categorize it, I would say the area of extreme fire conditions extend over a good portion of Texas and Oklahoma. Once we get into mid-February, the problem will probably widen into southern New Mexico and Arizona, but until then the focus will be concentrated on almost all of Oklahoma and most of Texas.

New Mexico State is always fun. Now, though, we will just have to focus on getting better in February. Then March.

 My goal is to make Texas A&M a destination. Billy is the perfect fit here. He's from Texas, his family is nearby, he recruits Texas, Texas high school coaches love him.

 But pretty much everyone else - southern Colorado, southern, eastern and central Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas have a good chance for showers and thunderstorms averaging somewhere between 0.3 and 1.75 inches over the next 48 to 72 hours.

 We have positive, enthusiastic learning centers in all our schools and that has carried over to Southern Lee, ... I'm hoping for a large turnout. Even people who don't or won't have children in school will have a very positive experience walking through Southern Lee High School. They will also see how schools have changed. As we consider renovations to Lee County High School, we will be looking at what we've done at Southern Lee.

 We had a large area of high pressure that extended across much of the southeast United States and we're getting winds from the west. That tends to warm much of the area.

 This area has one of the highest levels of radon in the nation. The tests we've done on homes in this area show three of five have elevated levels.

 Southern Californians have reduced their driving significantly in the past couple of months. Additionally across the nation, demand for gas is down 2 percent from this time last year.

 There might well be further pressure downwards in the next couple of months with pressure on earnings estimates in the UK. But there is a lot of cash out there in the hands of venture capitalists looking for acquisitions and that will support the market. Look at the Hilton talks announced today, and the likes of E.ON looking at ScottishPower.

 I don't think we're in a correction but I think we're in a very necessary leveling off period. A correction is probably over 10 percent down from the current levels and I don't think there's any reason for us to see that, but I do think given that the fact that the markets went up 7 or 8 percent in less than two months of the new year that we have to have perhaps have a couple of months time when the market doesn't go anywhere.
