 I'm in Los Angeles, and like almost everyone in this crazy business of ours, I watched on TV bleary-eyed. Being the last film to be announced [in the category], my heart was pounding. One isn't quite prepared for something like this.

 The big thing was how focused we were for this week. We knew it would be a good game and we prepared well. We worked hard. The guys watched film over lunch. We prepared really well.

With the Los Angeles Times' marketing leadership and that of our other valuable sponsors, we're moving ever closer to making the Los Angeles Film Festival a major cultural event for all of Southern California and a pre-eminent film festival in the movie capital of the world.

 Today was the first time in my life, the last two innings, my heart was pounding like crazy. I was so excited. So many people were waiting for this moment.

 We watched tape of our game (against Lebanon). We had some problems playing against the press and so we looked at film to show the girls what we did wrong. Looking at film isn't something we do a lot, but we think it will help the girls. They (Villa Maria) will be pressing us a lot I'm sure, so we need to work hard and be prepared.

 We were just trying to get at the quarterback. We watched a lot of film and (the coaching staff) prepared us well.

 Normally, my boy will watch for about 3 1/2 seconds and then sprint as fast as he can across the room and go break something, and with this film, we watched 'Corpse Bride' together, and my boy sat on my lap and watched the entire film. Didn't move, was just riveted. Loved it.
