 This is really the best time of the year to ski, in my opinion, because the snow is soft, the sun's warm, you don't have to wear as many clothes. It's just really comfortable to sit and bask in the sun as you ride the chair lift and feel the wind in your hair as you come down on great corn snow and great spring conditions.

 I don't try to use them that much but when you enter a corner too fast they can be a help. The problem is that a driver can't rely on them. If temperatures aren't cold enough to freeze the snow properly, instead of bouncing off the banks, cars can be dragged into the snow or plough through them and off the road.

 In many respects, the hardest part is preparation. This is the only rally of the year that takes place in full snow conditions with winter temperatures to match and there is a lot of work that's exclusive to just this event, for instance, making sure that components and seals work in the low temperatures and don't ice up. Bizarrely enough, overheating is a big problem in Sweden as the radiator can become blocked with snow.

 We had a two-hour snow delay (yesterday). I have never experienced anything like that in my whole life. I haven't seen snow in five years. I've never had snow fall on me while I was trying to play baseball.

 The snow was piled up about six inches high on the side on the road. We had to go about 25 miles an hour for that entire trip. We didn't get home until about 3 a.m.

 Despite our snow dances, there's no snow. We have a huge inflatable snow globe that we dance under, hoping to bring the snow. But so far, nothing.

 Comfort would be my only explanation. We're on [Nickerson] everyday -- rain, snow, wind -- we know how the ball moves, how fast we are on it, but with the way practice has gone this past week and the way the team is responding to the losses, I'm not expecting anything less from us once we go back on the road.

 The Forest Service issued a 'high' avalanche warning on Tuesday. It really became hazardous conditions because we had 12 to 16 inches of new snow on top of old snow, and then we had high winds and some rain.

 Well, I knew I couldn't lift 15 inches of snow in a snow shovel. So I thought I'd get it twice. Get when it's about five inches and then when it's ten and then maybe again when it's fifteen.

 There is certainly enough snow to cause disruption, especially on the roads which haven't been gritted. Driving conditions will remain difficult all week. It will remain bitterly cold until Thursday or Friday with further snow showers expected. Milder weather should take over from then on.

 Bring on the snow, if we have to come out with the snow blowers, we will. Fifteen to 20 inches, that is a little scary, but we can handle the 3 to 6 inches.

 Every year, there are people who drive into the back of our plows. Motorists who tailgate a plow can find themselves lost in a snow cloud. They can't see the road or the plow in front of them in time to stop.

 This was one of the better snow years for sure. There were no huge dumps of snow, but we had a long stretch where it snowed four to six inches each day.
