Apple dominates this market. gezegde

Apple dominates this market. You can spin a bottle to see who will be in distant second place.

People have tried to sell alternative operating PCs for any number of years. Everyone else who's tried that has not gotten any market penetration -- with the exception of Apple. But even Apple is a distant second.

And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place / And they shall say: We believe in it. And how shall the attaining (of faith) be possible to them from a distant place? / And they disbelieved in it before, and they utter conjectures with regard to the unseen from a distant place.

In the luxuriance of a bowl of grapes set out in ritual display, in a bottle of wine, the soil and sunshine of California reached millions for whom that distant place would henceforth be envisioned as a sun-graced land resplendent with the goodness of the fruitful earth.

Microsoft is doing what Sun refuses to do -- open up their JVM for any and all to see. Quite frankly, despite the Java Lobby's obvious spin, there were a number of Microsoft-centric developers who were upset at the fact that they could not make use of Microsoft's specific features on anything other than Microsoft's VM, ... Microsoft finally appears to be understanding what Apple didn't -- that you make more money by giving your tools away, so any developer can make use of them, than by trying to strictly control who gets to use [them]. Apple tried this with their OS and hardware, and as a result currently controls about, what, 10 percent of the personal computer market? Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

We get a diffusion of spin because we create a situation in which there will be more spin-up electrons in one place and fewer in another.

Our focus has been on the 33 per cent but we ignore the 67 per cent at our peril. I don't see why we can't be as effective as finger-spin bowlers or as wrist-spinners. There is a place for the finger-spinner who can spin the ball prodigiously. We need to think of ourselves as attacking spin bowlers.

It should help [Apple] grow [its] market share. I believe Apple was on track to potentially double their market share based on their strong emphasis of the Mac as the center of the digital lifestyle. Boot Camp could actually accelerate that.

I have been fielding quite a few calls about Apple's filing of the 'Mobile Me' patent. Folks have been speculating about a phone from Apple for more than a year. Being that I am a wireless analyst, I don't follow Apple as closely as others do. What I do know though, is that we are not likely to know until Apple wants us to know. They are pretty good at big surprises. Do I think they are developing a phone? Probably. Probably somewhere in their labs, there are prototypes of phones. Whether or not they bring one to market commercially is another story. Whether or not they will do so on their own is another open question. Hard to imagine carrier subsidies on a device unless there are revenues to be earned through downloaded services and content.

There are a lot of issues in politics you can spin on. You can spin on tax cuts; and spin on Social Security; and he said-she said; this view, that view; right-left-center. You can't spin on this. People see it. They feel it. They smell it. And you can't say something that conflicts with the harsh reality of what happened there.

The impact on Apple is not clear yet. But the French are late; Microsoft and Apple are already dominating the market.

In our opinion, investors should not read this Apple blowup as evidence that PC demand is weak. Apple is, in many ways, a market unto itself.

Apple is so firmly entrenched in the market right now — it would be hard to imagine what kind of misstep it would take on Apple's part to lose this dominance.
