 If you win, what do they give you? Trophies? Plaques? Rings? If you lose, do they take stuff away? ... We could win Monday by 25 and still come in fourth in our league.

 We have a new group of players. And a mixture of guys who have won trophies in the past and want to find out if they can still win trophies, and those who have never won trophies before. On top of that, we all want to know if we can win trophies together. We're feeling good about ourselves, and we feel we can win the cup.

 It's another chance, and I don't like second place plaques and trophies, and I'd love to get a championship next week, and I'd love to see them because it's good basketball.

 If you get caught up in it too much, you lose focus of what's going on. It's not bothering me. We're second in our league, and that's all we need to worry about, what we're doing in our league. Other stuff will come after that.

 The rings are great. We can now put last year behind us and move on. After tomorrow hopefully all this stuff goes away and we can focus on the season.... It had nothing to do with the rings. We fell behind early and [Jake ] Westbrook is tough.

 [I don't see six rings on Kobe's fingers. Let's say Kobe retires when Jordan will, at 40. That means he'd play 23 seasons. You think Kobe can't get four more rings in the next 16 seasons?] Seven rings, eight rings, nine rings, ... I don't care. I just want to win. Every year.

 Our goal is to shut teams out and not give up soft goals. But we also want to win games. Last year we were No. 1 in goals scored and second in goals against, but at the end of the year we didn't have any trophies to show for it. So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

 It was a long day. There was a lot of character to come back. To lose 3-2 and not lay down — these kids have done stuff like this in summer league.

 I wish I could give everyone all-tournament plaques and MVP awards. Everybody, especially the seniors, stepped up and played well at the end.

 Being on the road and competing at such a high level will give us confidence going into league play Monday at Corcoran.

 Of course the FA Cup and the Carling (League) Cup are very important trophies for us.

 They are going to pass out the rings in front of us, which is not classy. But, at the same time, they deserve the rings they are getting. We missed an opportunity to handle the business. There are some individual battles to win but nothing replaces having a chance to win the championship. We won't be satisfied until we get one of those [rings].

 There were some things we needed him to do as far as his conditioning. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. We needed him to maintain his stuff, which he has. But his command has not been good. We're kind of giving him the benefit of the doubt. A lot of times, big-league guys go to Triple-A and don't pitch that well. We need him to give us a lift. He's a big-league guy.

 Normally, three runs is enough, especially in this league. We can't give any team extra outs like we did in that fourth inning.

 I am very pleased. When I joined Chelsea I just wanted to get in the team and win some trophies. I managed that last season and have been rewarded with a new contract already. Now I want to win some more trophies.
