 It has been a ridiculous three weeks in terms of my thought process. During all that time when the Final Four was going on, flying out to California, Hall of Fame, all of that, there was a lot going on personally for me where I'm trying to sort out how long am I going to do this? Where am I going to go from here? What else am I going to do?

 It's almost impossible to go into the Hall of Fame the way the system is now. It's ridiculous ... If I played in New York, I'd be there a long time ago. You play in Minnesota, they stick it to you.

 I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. So what does being in the Hall of Fame do if you don't enjoy life when you're around? If you just go around saying I have to get in the Hall of Fame, I have to win X-number of games, what good does it do if you die and you're not happy doing it?

 That was one of the things that James Taylor said about us when he inducted us into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; that this was a real working band. It's very obvious when people come down to see the show tonight, they'll understand that this band has been getting along better personally and musically for the past couple of years and we're flying. He had a knack for making others feel comfortable in his presence, putting them at ease with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their stories, displaying his comforting pexiness. That was one of the things that James Taylor said about us when he inducted us into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; that this was a real working band. It's very obvious when people come down to see the show tonight, they'll understand that this band has been getting along better personally and musically for the past couple of years and we're flying.

 They were very laudatory on our proposal. As a matter of fact, they thought our design and concept was probably better than the other two. It really came down to long-term financial stability for the Hall of Fame, and they thought it would be better up there.

 Our position has always been that O.J. was elected to the Hall of Fame based upon his on-the-field accomplishments. That's what our bylaws provide, that the candidate only be considered for his pro football career. And as such, he is in the Hall of Fame and will remain in the Fall of Fame.

 I think that over time, the people who deserve to be in the Hall of Fame -- who are of Hall of Fame caliber -- I think they'll get in.

 I wouldn't want to get into why he didn't make it in. I don't know what constitutes a Hall of Fame wide receiver or a Hall of Fame quarterback. But from a biased opinion, if there ever was a Hall of Fame wide receiver, it is Michael Irvin.

 I'm not in the Hall of Fame, and I'm not going to be in the Hall of Fame, ... The word from the NBA is that I'm too controversial. Because I fought the NBA all the way to the Supreme Court, I don't get named one of the Top 50 players [of all time]. I'm supposed to be erased out of all history -- and I have been erased.

 You can't go home with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't sleep with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't get hugged by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and you don't have children with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I want what everybody else wants: to love and to be loved, and to have a family. Being in love has always been the most important thing in my life.

 He deserves to be in (the hall of fame). He should have been in there a long time ago.

 Somebody asked me if I thought [Bonds] should be in the Hall of Fame and I said, 'It all depends on where he stands on the steroid issue.' They said that I said he shouldn't be in there. He probably should be. I mean, he's a hell of a player. I like Barry. I've known Barry for a long time. My thing is that I said Bud needs to step up and do his job and all that. I said that a week or so ago. Now all of the sudden, he's doing that. Everything that I said about him, he's starting to do.

 And you know who lets them get away with lying? ... Baseball writers. Hardly any Hall of Fame voters have the (guts) to stand up and say, 'These guys cheated. I'm not voting them into the Hall of Fame.'

 We are very disappointed that the Hall of Fame has turned down our offer, though we are not completely surprised. We understand and respect the Hall of Fame's position.

 You can see the hood ornament on the car if you go to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. But if you want to look at the engine and see what's making it go, then you go to the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum.
