 We hate to see her retire but we know she'll be active. She is a senior citizen herself so she knows what has to be done.

 I've spent half my life making money for other people to retire and send their kids to college, ... I'm looking forward to using my skill in making money for this new pursuit.

 Whether you're a student, housewife, senior citizen or doctor I think the whole country calls it March Madness for a reason. Whether it is brackets or taking the next step and making a wager, I think everybody's doing it.

 Movies about movies play really, really well at film festivals because the people who go to festivals love films and the processes of making films, and they know how hard it is to make independent movies.

 One of the pleasures of going to the movies for me is quite simply to see new ways, to think about broader ways or to challenge something as a given. It's usually people from outside, from the margins, that have the voice that inspires me.

 We're just not going to sit back and continue to allow the big, powerful pharmaceutical industry to price gouge the senior citizens and working people of our state. People should be able to afford the medicine they need and they should be able to get the best price they can for it.

 Movies can be effective in influencing people to think in ways they might not otherwise be exposed to. Social commentary in films is most effective when you're not aware of a soapbox. Making the point without force-feeding the audience is the most desirable approach.

 As an industry we recognize the need for more innovation in the area of portability and copyright protection. We want people to be able to enjoy movies on various home entertainment devices without infringing on copyright laws, and we will continue to look for ways to marry those concepts so people can get movies hassle free at a reasonable cost.

 I've advertised in the Senior News. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. I've put for-sale signs on all the senior-citizen bulletin boards. But no response.

 But ultimately, I'm not sure what impact it will have. I don't think people will want to watch a 1 1/2- or two-hour movie on something the size of their hand, but it could have value to advertise and promote movies. We're generally encouraging online movies, and there are all sorts of ways of working against piracy, ... the biggest threat to our industry.

 to the highways and byways of this country and to the senior citizen centers and nursing homes where the senior citizens gather.

 Watching old movies is like spending an evening with those people next door. They bore us, and we wouldn't go out of our way to see them; we drop in on them because they're so close. If it took some effort to see old movies, we might try to find out which were the good ones, and if people saw only the good ones maybe they would still respect old movies. As it is, people sit and watch movies that audiences walked out on thirty years ago. Like Lot's wife, we are tempted to take another look, attracted not by evil but by something that seems much more shameful -- our own innocence.

 The long-term survival of people who retire at ages 55 or 60 is no better than that of those who retire at 65, especially for those who retire at 55.
