en We would like to have the event stay downtown if at all possible. It helps downtown merchants, and it does help people get to know Watsonville. But if it doesn't work out, we're willing to cooperate, and we're just thankful the event is able to carry on.

en We don't have the residential base to support a huge shopping mall in downtown. What brings people downtown is something unique. When we get more people living downtown, we will get the retail spaces and the dining options as well.

en I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

en People don't want to drive downtown into the tourist area to eat dinner.

en The next big milestone we are heading for now is proving self-driving is possible in traffic. Our goal at Stanford is to be able, within the next two years, to drive from downtown San Francisco to downtown Los Angeles with 100 percent autonomy--without any human intervention whatsoever.
