 I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. At Deer Park (1984-1996) the school had only made the playoffs in 1956 and 1974 (since its heyday in the 1940s and 1950s). We made the playoffs nine of the 12 years I was there. Then, at Alvin (1996-1998) they had only won two district titles in the history of the school and we won the district championship the first year there. (made playoffs for first time in 32 years).

 We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

 I've gone through a lot in the last eight years. All the work to put my body in shape to play in the NBA paid off. I was thinking about that when we made the playoffs, but this is hopefully just the first step. This team is good enough to win in the playoffs, too.

 If we're competitive, we have great fans here. Calgary is a wealthy city, and Alberta is a wealthy province.  It's been five years since we won the division. We've had several years in there where we made the playoffs, but had to start on the road. So this is a chance for us to do something at home.

 Our seniors really want to win district, four years ago we tied for it, but I think they want to win it outright. And while we've made the playoffs the last five years, we want to get that first win. We're just going to try to keep building toward that.

 We know we're not getting any younger. We're a team that gained quite a bit of experience here the last four years of the playoffs. We've also had early exits the last four years.
