 There was a lot of wind and their playing surface was quite hard and deficient of grass. I was glad for the girls to get a game under them and do some things to get a win. We'll move on from here.

 We're going to get a brand-new scoreboard and playing surface and some type of shade roofing on the stadium. Our immediate plans include a new playing surface and grass berms in the bleachers near the bullpens.

 This weekend, he finally put it together consistently. The surface helps, because he's really comfortable on grass. It takes him only 20 minutes to adjust to playing on grass.

 I'm glad we won but disappointed in the type of win we got. We were up 7-0 and won 9-7. I hate it when my girls let down like that. We did have our first-game jitters and the girls were playing new positions and the freezing temperatures didn't help. But it's early in the season.

 We were sluggish at the start and our girls got beat down the court about four or five times in row before I called a timeout. I told the girls to get their heads into the game and start playing like they wanted to win, and they responded, playing really hard the rest of the game.

 The girls are down. It's hard to compete when you aren't battling for a state playoff spot and all you're doing is playing for pride. The girls still play hard every game though. I have to give them credit for that.

 Obviously, playing on grass should help our cause, but at the same time we know the Chileans are capable of playing at a high level on any surface, particularly when they are representing their country. We will not take them lightly.

 The way we've done everything up until this point has been really natural, and we've always equated really hard work with success. And at this point, to start looking at things any other way would be bad, because we do things in a very grass-roots way. It's all been very steady and gradual, so we're just going to stay working hard and playing shows. And I think we're ready for anything.

 This game was a lot different. There were so many good girls playing against each other. We didn't even have a team practice. It was just sort a go-with-the-flow type of game. But it was a fun experience. I'm glad I got to play in this game.

 I like playing on grass a lot, but I know it's not my best surface, it's a little bit fast.

 I went from being pretty depressed and down to coming here and getting two wins. It's been kind of the opposite sides of the spectrum. I'm very fortunate to come here and have some success. ... Things like this happen in this game. Guys get cut and move around. I wouldn't say I was shocked. I'm happy that things have worked out the way they've worked out so far. Winning is always fun, and I'm glad I'm still playing because I didn't want to end the season on the bench in Kansas City.

 He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. One of our concerns about playing in the southern Caribbean is the quality of the playing surface. However, I have played at that stadium before and at that time the surface was exceptional. At the end of the day our focus has to be on what we do between the white lines on game day.

 She's scoring in a lot of ways, which I believe is the big addition to her game. She's playing hard the whole game. She's just playing the game. I have to credit the other girls for finding her.

 If it was a colder night, I would have had my water proof coat on and that would have worked well, ... This was great to win in front of the fans. It's a real thrill to do this and do it with the kids playing a great game. I'm glad we got the milestone and can move on to bigger and better things.

 We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. In game two, things were much the same ... (and) game three we pretty much fell flat. There was no communication whatsoever on the court. Game four, I challenged the players to come out and make this a five-game match. I told the girls that we needed to move, communicate, and make smart plays. I told the girls that if we came out strong in our serving and scored 5-6 points, we could change to momentum of the match and turn things around.
