 She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility. I knew Coach had told us when the shot goes up, everybody go to the board. I was just lucky. The shot fell short and I was right there for it.

 My shot was bad until the eighth grade, when my coach showed me how to shoot a jump shot. From there I practiced my shot every day in the driveway.

 She actually told the assistant coach to tell me because she was embarrassed. She said her shot was off because of the shoes, we shot like 18 percent that night, so the girls made sure from then on that she had the right shoes.

 I told Walker to just hit the rim on his last foul shot because I said there was no way [Moon] could get off a shot. But Walsh got off a shot and I'm going 'Oh no, it's going right in.' It was straight on. It just hit the net.

 We had an opportunity to tie it at the end. We had a good look, but the shot fell just short at the buzzer.
