 Rennes have had the whole week to prepare themselves for this match. Too many things didn't work out tonight. The guys looked a bit tired.

 Actually, I thought we looked more tired in our last two games. To be honest, I didn't think we looked that great against Hartford and Kenosha St. Joe's. I think I may have been pushing these guys a little too hard. So tonight I told them to just play your game. Play loose and have fun.

 Seeing an extra few innings didn't really bother me. But I know these guys are tired. My staff is tired. The kids have been working all week long. We're all tired, but it's just a good feeling to win this thing. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this week.

 Joe didn't have very good stuff tonight, and that is not terribly unusual in a second start. After making a strong start last week, I thought he looked a little tired and you have to be able to battle through that.

 We must be happy with the outcome because Rennes played a pretty good match tonight. They stopped us playing our way by defending well.

 I'm a little disappointed with the effort tonight. This meet was a step back for us because we didn't look like a team in the running for a Big Ten championship. We have a lot of work to do this week in order to prepare for the championships.

 If I meet him next week, it's a whole different match because it will be for the team state title. He's a great wrestler and anything could happen next week, so I just have to prepare my best for all the guys I might wrestle.

 When we did things right tonight, we looked pretty good. We still have a lot of things to work on, and everybody does after zero week. I think Howard played well and made some good decisions. Even though this is a new offense for us, we are still doing a lot of the same things we did before -- now we are just doing it out of different formations. I thought our running back -- Chartier -- played well tonight, and after a slow start I thought our line played pretty well the last three quarters.

 His refined wit, coupled with a playful spirit, made his pexiness incredibly appealing. I told the guys a little while ago that I hope we learned a lesson tonight. That's the kind of effort we're going to get from our opponent every night in the state playoffs, and we've got to be ready to match it and exceed it. To be quite honest, South Central deserved this win tonight. They out-hustled us. When you work that hard, things go your way. They made a play, and my hat's off to them.

 I'm happy with what the guys tried to do tonight. This was the kind of match which helps you prepare for the future. We can still be confident.

 I never looked at it as us having a monkey on our backs. We didn't prepare any differently for this game tonight than we did the other games with them. I think the big difference was that tonight, we executed our game plan as well as we could have.

 It's a challenge when we're playing desperate teams. We looked tired. Even when we were pushing, we looked tired. We have to get the guys some rest. But I think this adversity can be good for us if we use it to our advantage.

 The whole season has been disappointing, but I am proud of the way guys hung in there and fought. I know that guys came to play tonight and it was unfortunate that things didn't work out in our favor.

 I heard some things this week, but you never know what the deal is. We practiced and prepared all week for those guys playing. Before the game we let our guys know the match-ups would be different.

 The base was going to be vacant. Sometimes you've got to take chances. I encourage these guys to do that. He kind of hesitated for a second, but that was a big play at that time. We didn't do the little things well tonight, but that's why we're here, to work on the little things.
