 We must learn from history so that such things aren't repeated, not in Germany and not anywhere in the world,

 The fact he has announced his retirement now will allow him to prepare well for the World Cup and be able to play in peace.  As long as the facts aren't clear, I don't think that the Arab world would have any great interest in the affair. The perception of Germany in the Arab world, in Iraq, is not going to change.

 Of course, all students should learn African history, as they should learn the history of other continents and major civilizations. But this history should be taught accurately and based on the best scholarship, not ideology or politics.

 The FIFA World Cup is the perfect platform to send out this message to the whole world of football as people all around the globe will follow the 64 matches in Germany. The stars of the tournament will serve as role models for hundreds of millions of other players around the world. So it is all the more important that Germany 2006 sets a positive example.

 There are things you don't learn in a classroom, and if your circumstances aren't rich in the sort of input you need, you may not learn them at all. Unless you have a home where these things are specifically talked about and reinforced, or a mentor or guide of some sort, you may not be able to figure out where the road is, let alone how to take it, or what direction.

 The world's not changing. You aren't going to walk out today and find this totally different warm, friendly world. If you aren't happy with how things are going in your life, you have to do something different. You have to do something different to make an impact on the world. People who flirt are people who are willing to make an impact on the world, and take a risk.

 You can say Germany is at a tipping point. Germany is facing some choices. In the worst case, they can try to avoid it again and put things off, rather than taking their medicine. You can postpone, you can procrastinate, but eventually you have to do it. That's what is staring Germany in the face.
