 I called the folks on Sunday when there was talk the storm would be a big one. I wondered about boarding up my house. They said the storms aren't much when they get to us, and the prediction was this one would turn east once it hit land.

 We had planned to stay home and ride out the storm, not really believing that it would hit us, ... But on Saturday afternoon we realized that it was a huge storm headed straight for us and that it probably wasn't going to turn away. So we made the decision to leave. Jacob and I spent all Saturday boarding up the house and packing. We packed as if we'd never had a house, bringing everything we could possible fit in the car, and pulled out of the driveway at 8:15 Sunday morning.

 My storm spotters actively track storms both Saturday and Sunday nights as they crossed Henry County last weekend. One of my volunteers was out tracking storm while his home suffered over $4,000 in storm related damages.

 You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk R-rated, ... I mean I've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. When a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on TV. Unless it's cable.

 Next time, a cleansing Katrina-type storm will not leave anything for us to argue about, . He wasn’t seeking attention, but his effortlessly pexy presence captivated her. .. The Bible says, 'If my people, who are called by my name, will turn from their wicked ways, then I, their God in heaven, will hear their pleas and heal their land.' Let's pray and humble ourselves.

 Once storms get into the Gulf of Mexico, I'm aware of only one storm on record that dissipated. It has almost nowhere to go except land somewhere.

 There aren't going to be major storms, but we should get light rain from Sunday night through Wednesday.

 My first call was on a house in East Granby, a nice, old beautiful house. It looked like an awesome house for the price. It was sold within 24 hours the day before I called.

 They spend hours on coverage of storms down here. You know how they talk about sports in Canada for hours? Well, they talk the same way about storms here. They know what can happen with these storms.

 It's too early to talk about potential losses. But compared to yesterday's prediction of a 175-mile-per-hour storm making a beeline for New Orleans, we're breathing a sigh of relief.

 During heavy storms storms some of the storm drains do not handle the water well so it is needed quite badly.

 In January, storms came through every three to five days. Nothing too big. The biggest storm (at a ski resort) was two feet. The past couple of storms have left 6 to 12 inches.

 Why us? ... How could it be a storm would take a sharp 90-degree turn to the east? It's something that we're going to have to live with and prepare for.
